Disclaimer: I know this is not an airport, and I do not to announce my departure; this is my experience and my opinion.
@Ford Motor Company , I hope you take this feedback improve for the sake of your customers!
The time has finally come for me to trade in my 2021 Job 1 MME for a Rivian R1S dual, max pack.
I remember when Ford announced the MME. I was at work watching the livestream, and everyone was telling me not to buy it and to buy a real EV, a Tesla. I have always owned a Ford and to continue to support them. My friends and family even told me not to buy a first-gen from a legacy automaker. I was ecstatic and overjoy to place my order. I found a similar one at a dealer and went to buy it the day!
This experiment started out well as Ford did push a good of updates to resolve issues. When I got my MME, it was really bad. The backup camera would not load, and the screen would crash; the UI was extremely slow and sluggish. I remember thinking, "Am I making a mistake? Is Ford actually going to fix this?" Ford did fix those issues relatively, and I was happy! one else had an MME or had seen one. I constantly get stopped everywhere, and everyone would ask me so many about it. I recommended it even thinking. Well, that has changed! I just talked my brother out of buying one and getting a Tesla instead.
Ford has turned me into a bitter owner who doesn't care about his car anymore. I don't get excited about it, I wonder about what else my car is capable of, and I definitely am not recommending it to anyone asks me.
I think Ford needs to improve in several areas including OTAS, Customer experience, and they need to stop promising things when they can't deliver. There is a significant delay between OTAs and they seemingly only "allow better communication" or something else that no one notices. To me, it seems like Ford doesn't do a good enough job testing their software and they don't listen to their customers. I have requested the regen/power meter to be added to the IPC for years and they were looking into it too. Surprise - nothing happened. They have killed the EAP forum for whatever reason. I personally, think its too convenient that the forum went away right around when they were supposed to roll out the bc 1.4 OTA which turned into 1.3 to cars. I havent had an OTA in almost a year and in that time I learned from Ford that my car's IPMA module got messed up and I would have to pay $900.00 out of my pocket to fix it. Luckily, I had an extended warranty and only had to pay $100.00 but, what about the people that don't have the extended warranty? They're SOL! That was the last straw for me, I could live with the lack of OTAs, the lack of OTA notes, and the lack of features being delivered.
The HVBJB issue still seems to be around, the glass on this car is soooo fragile! I've replaced my windshield 3 times and yet again it's chipped.
My last gripe is the dealership experience! It's so terrible and there is such a vast difference in experience based on which dealer you go to. I stopped taking my car in because it wasn't worth it to me to deal with Ford service anymore.
Overall, Ford has a lot of work to do and I really hope they don't leave their loyal customers behind. I think Ford tried to get to market too fast and created a bunch of hype using buzz words and now they can't deliver on their commitments. Anyway, I'll probably still be around to see what Ford is up to but, its definitely time to move on for me. Farewell and good luck to you all. I hope you all have a better experience than me with your MMEs. This forum has been such a wonderful resource and there are so many great individuals here who help out all the time! You all make this terrible Ford experience a better one.
