I get that the first response to “very soon” is an eyeroll but we WE’RE given “spring” as an expectation and we’re still in the tail end of winter…
But....Meteorologists recognize March 1st as the First Day of Meteorological Spring. ???

A few years from now - hopefully just a few - we’re gonna look back and laugh about how excited folks got about an adaptor to charge.

We’re going to remember this adaptor in the same way people remember those first Motorola car phones in the zippered bag.

You guys remember when we had to carry around adapters to use different chargers? And it took like 40 minutes to charge? Remember those annoying little clown cars that always hogged the spaces? I think they were Chevys, right? Volts? Bolts?
I still miss my StarTac.

Speaking of early access, I think it would be a nice gesture to the Early Access group if they got maybe 24-hour advance notice and ability to order the adapter first. Or simply have Ford automatically ship adapters first to all the Early Access members.
Yes, a perfect gesture for someone like me who preordered the car, got the first MME off the lot in my city, vouched for this experience at nearly every opportunity, has no CCS superchargers between the two largest cities in his state, but has been declined entry into EA since June of 2021.

Piss right the hell off. Respectively.

In the meantime, Tesla has screwed up their App so that I can no longer use the Magic Docks. The App used to say "Charge your non-Tesla", now it says "Charge Your EV". Went to a Magic Dock today and it leaves the dock in the pedestal when I try to charge. Tried two pedestals, exact same result. They must think I bought a Tesla. When I used these chargers previously, I could hear the locking mechanism, then push up and the dock would pop out with the NACs connector.

Just give us the dates, Jim. Is it that hard to give us one concrete date? Whats with all the "soon" stuff this late in the game when the network was supposed to be open this month?
If he gave you a date and they missed it you'd be up in arms. They can't win.

As long as it's here by Summer. I'm thinking a regional ballpark tour might be fun!
I just spoke with my salesperson at the Ford dealership who stated Mid-March is the target date for the shipping of the Tesla adaptor. Confirmed a software update will be needed. That would be Fred Martin Ford just outside of Youngstown, Ohio

At this point I have to ask what is the point of Mr. Farley posting without giving any actual news? We have seen the pic from this past weekend of the GT testing at a SC.
The term you're looking for is "generating buzz". And the fact that Twitter has a few more users than this forum.

So I guess the takeaway is that people would rather Ford not say anything at all until it's all working and the adapter shows up on shelves? ?‍♂?
Which then would piss off the other half of the forum.

But if there's nothing new to say, why say anything? Giving dates and other relevant specifics is more useful.
Well, since it is still in testing and shit could hit the fan, he's being cagey. I've seen more than 1 release halted in the 11th hour.

Also, he might have noticed how EVERYONE on this forum berates Ford for missing their "promises"

That verbiage has been used since the days of IBM when they would always talk about this product would be available soon he keeps you on the hook but shows no commitment.
Which is a safe way to go, as every time any Ford representative gives an approximate date it magically becomes a "promise" despite any amount of equivocation.

Just give us the dates, Jim. Is it that hard to give us one concrete date? Whats with all the "soon" stuff this late in the game when the network was supposed to be open this month?
Ford didn't say "this month", a Tesla employee did. And yet you're going to hold Farley to task for not meeting that "commitment".

Or if he just wanted to let everyone know that they're testing, he could have given some dates around when they expect to complete testing. At this point dates are better than "very soon", which says nothing.
No, because everyone forgets all of the qualifications and considers any date a "promise". The target date that Ford has maintained is "Spring 2024", and already half this forum is pissed because February is almost over and they don't have their adapters

When I used these chargers previously, I could hear the locking mechanism, then push up and the dock would pop out with the NACs connector.
Which suggests that things are imminenttm as opposed to soontm

Surely this must be true. A salesperson wouldn't just say something to a customer unless it was based on 100% fact. Salespeople never do that.

EXACTLY. They can't win no matter what they do, and that includes giving away $300 worth of free hardware to people who knew the car they bought could only charge on a CCS station.

And yet Farley's still wrong because he can't meet people's self-manufactured expectations
