Uhhhh......I don't know sir. That's a lot of faith to put into someone that is very mercurial. If you're a Ford customer waiting on his/her adapter and you see the 8,000 a week announcement, don't assume that you'll get yours soon. You probably will not get it soon. Rivian, GM and others have to also get a piece of that 8k allotment. And with this apparent news that Tesla is finally getting production up to 8000 adapters/week (a dramatic leap from what was previously produced and delivered), I suspect Ford will stick with Tesla. 8000/wk is a serious number.
Ford probably knew that was coming when they gave the September update. Wouldn't surprise me if the next batch Ford gets soon is upwards of 20,000. Pure guess, of course, but Ford and Rivian have been alternating so far and Rivian got the last batch.
Insideevs editor in chief wrote an article last week, which quoted a GM spokesperson saying that GM is still working on it's contract with Tesla. I think that's smart and I think that they learned from the adapter mess. It's been speculated that the GM negotiations involves GM's ability to have Lectron manufacture adapters for it's customers. This maybe a done deal.
