I’m sure this is old news. This just popped up on my phone as I got out of the shower, just sharing.

If Ford is suggesting that the Mach-E is not a "real" Mustang, can one sue them for deceptive practice?

Wouldn't this be the same as people selling knock-off Rolex Watches?

Ford literally placed the name Mustang along with the Mustang Pony all over the place (similar to knock-off watches).

I just can't believe the CEO admitted their deceptive practice? If they truly did call it a Mustang knowing full well that it is not a "Mustang", then I demand some money back from my initial purchase.

Now the only question is, how much collateral damage would this amount to?

Actually, in my previous comparison, I would highly doubt that Rolex would sell knock-off Rolex watches?

Oh boy, here we go again! No, quite simply because Ford named it the Mustang Mach E while still making the real Mustang. There has never been any ambiguity on Ford's part as they refer to the Mach E as a Mustang Mach E and the Mustang as well, a Mustang. The only confusion comes from all the folks trying to simply call it a Mustang while dropping off the Mach E part. But hey, call it whatever you want, but, don't expect a payout for your slang.

Not according to Jim Farley who clearly stated there will not be an all electric Mustang.

By definition, you fit the description quite well. Because your opinion of something doesn't fit your preconceived view of something, it must not be, according to you?

Examples:

They are too short to be a Basketball Player.
The head of a household should be male.

I could go on but I think you get my point.

Ford Motor Company named the MME with the word "Mustang" in it. That in itself should be enough of a descriptor to settle the debate of whether it is a Mustang. It clearly is a Mustang but not what you preconceive as such. You are prejudicing the MME because it is not like the OG. Is it because it is electric, 4 doors etc. in your own little world (I am guessing)

The bottom line it is a Mustang but many people on this forum can't get past the idea that a car they grew up with has changed. And yes, there can be two of the same car with different options. There are many cars that have Models of both 2 and 4 door while carrying similar badging.

Is a 2 door Ford LTD not an LTD? If I were to suggest that it is not, I am prejudice against it only having 2 doors in that example of it not being worthy of the nameplate if you will.

It is interesting to see the true colors of many on this forum with such a silly/trivial topic as this.

Dennis, I guess I need to spell this out as I am not doing a very good job of it. Yes, the topic is what is the Mach E, on that we can agree. But, when you start making it personal and even use the word prejudice , you are off subject and making it personal. If you don't get why that is inappropriate on any forum I don't know how to make you understand that.
