First Puke in MME

My kid barfed in the backseat of my MME on the way home today. Major shout out for the OEM all weather floor mats and the backseat cushion design! The rear of the bottom seat cushion rises up about an inch or two before it meets the back cushion which prevents the aqueous portion of the vomit from seeping between the two cushions. Any parent who has cleaned vomit from the car knows the worst part is trying to fish out the remains between the two cushions that make up the backseat. Yuck!

So... I'd say that, strictly going off of habits I've learned about as a student of this forum, I am now convinced you are overdue to replace that raggedly old Mach-E with a new GTPE that's surely gonna have a few more safety recalls, and you should definitely lawyer up and form a vomit-class with @PharmilyMan, @SWO, and @HuntingPudel.

I started to say no one had puked in any of my cars and then I remembered. I guess it was so traumatic I blocked it out for a while.

We had been on vacation when an extended family member died. Had to cut the vacation short to return for the funeral. Didn't end up making it to the funeral as we had to stop half way between Orlando and Savannah. My son was repeatedly getting sick and we could not stand the smell anymore.

Stopped at a hotel for the night. I found a hose and used it to spray off the car seat which had contained the majority of the mess. I also went to the front desk and asked for some more towels so I could clean up the interior parts that had been affected. As I was walking outside with the towels they gave me a hard time telling me I needed to return the towels or there would be a charge.

I told them don't worry, you will get the towels back. You won't want them but you will get them back. Told them I would be sure to return the vomit covered towels in just a few moments right back to the front desk.

They then asked if I needed more and if I would take them directly to their laundry room when I was finished. I of course replied sure.

I ended up using the hose to clean the towels as best I could before returning them. Left the car seat on the roof of the car overnight to dry and air out. Figured no one would steal it.

The next day we finally made it home. I tried washing the car seat cover in the washing machine but the seat belt portions still reeked no matter what I did. I ended up having to buy a new car seat.

I hope you don't have an residual smell.

My 8 year old also did, a mess in the backseat, also saved by leatherette and all weather floor mats. It was a gross one, but cleaned up well and the car STILL has the new car smell!

Now I fear for my rear seating. Our little one always has the armrest down and there is that cavity at the base of it that collects LOL doll accessories and is impossible to empty. No vomit yet.
