There's no indication anywhere that this is a BEV at all. I wouldn't call this a ____ "Mach-E."

So if Ford had released this as a BEV with all of the same specs as the MME, but without the Mustang name, would you (generic plural you referring to the whole forum) be as excited about it as the MME?

I think it looks pretty nice, but I also think the Mustang name adds just a little bit more. Maybe that exposes a tiny vanity streak in me.

You are right. There are few details on the power train, but given that Ford is just starting to take pre-orders for Mach-E (including GT First Edition), it is definitely not a BEV.

The First Edition units for the Chinese market are GT's, and the only color available is Grabber Blue. Am curious about pricing for various options, but the reservation page requires a local cell phone number to proceed further, and I suspect that even then it will not yield any more pricing info. GT First Edition starts just under $59K at current exchange rate, Co-Pilot360 prep package costs ~$2.3K.

Here are screenshot of pricing which is in chinese Yuan, exchange rate to US dollar is around 6.5. First one is RWD Standard range, second is RWD ER, third one is GT.

currently car-less, but hope to get a MME!

I wish they would bring it here as a BEV to complement the Mach E. They also need to bring the Lincoln Zephyr here as a Model 3 competitor- it looks amazing!

It's got the front of a Ford Edge with MME lights, the side doors from The MME and the rear of an Aston Martin. Interesting combo

It would be the replacement of the Ford Mondeo/Fusion, so not an electric but surely a PHEV. And I love it already! I hope it will have a nice entry price

I doubt it could be federalized. And it would need all new software.

Why do you assume it couldn't be federalized? And software is no big deal.

It is very likely a Ford Global product and the mules were spotted doing extensive testing in Europe where it is expected to replace the Mondeo. No reason why a car good enough for the rest of the world won't work for the US, apart from silly things like being too good for some of your archaic laws (headlamps spring to mind). Again, easy changed though.

Safety and emissions.
All the software would have to be tossed out and rewritten from scratch. It’s also likely that the processors and supporting systems would have to go as well.
