Being a little skeptical, did someone here run your VIN to see if everything was updated?
Yes they did and said I have nothing to update. My list was 22 modules to update before I brought the car in

Be careful of what you wish for. Took car in to fix stuck on 3.5 update (have not received an OTA since being stuck on 1.7.1 back in 2021. Dealer has performed all updates). After dealer updated car to 4.2 or 4.5 PAAK stopped working. Car also stopped talking to ford and ford pass stopped updating. Took car in again to fix last update and dealer has had car now for 4 wks. Ford corporate techs say the car thinks it's now registered in China and they say that's why it's not getting updates. They also stated that this is why PAAK, Fordpass stopped working and it stopped talking to ford servers. At this time they don't know how to fix it. The dealer said Ford corp is thinking really hard on this issue. Dealer said they will let me know when they have an idea on a possible fix. This maybe the straw that breaks the camels back
Wow. I made the mistake of taking my car in since the IPC stopped working, 5th week and counting still no part. Had I known better I would have velcro taped my phone with waze and it would have displayed speed and I would still be driving Mach E. My dealer took apart Humpty and due to lack of parts could not put Dumpty back together again ?

Do we know if Tesla sends comprehensive module updates (like what OP described) OTA?

Yes, because I believe Tesla uses comprehensive operating firmware rather than individual modules that all have different software like Ford. Updating a Tesla is more like updating your phone in that it is one update that covers everything rather than just a specific module. Ford is working towards this sort of unified module/software architecture.

Well, I hope the PLA is as confused by this as Ford is!

Did you tell him it will feel like it goes faster if they eat some donuts together and talk about cars with Mach-E owners while it updates?
Lol! I wish it worked that way! They keep the techs far away from customers for some reason.

That's great news! Update every single module on the car to latest, that would be a big help for the 2021's. But I'm sure there will be some kind of limit on it (like once per year) otherwise there may be a bunch of frequent fliers...
This would be a real game changer for me, and I have to think for others too. I’m really surprised more people haven’t posted about this. Once a year would be great, but I can’t find any more info on this except on this thread.

I have an appointment tomorrow for my dealer to look at the car because my traffic alert is not working on my nav. My service advisor called me just now about this program and whether I wanted to be part of it. They would just need to keep the car all day. Never heard of this program so came here and found this thread. I’ll have to see what updates I need and see if those were truly completed afterwards.

That’s fantastic, you are the first one to respond positively. Hopefully it is being rolled out to everyone.

You're like the third person to mention the GWM (gateway) module thinking it's in China. That's a server back end/asbuilt issue and I believe that is now easily corrected. It's not just here in the US either, apparently over in EU they had a similar instance with a gateway replacement that then thought the car was in China, so no updates, no PAAK, nothing working correctly.

So you need to ask them if they are installing "tokens" on your car.

One member reached out to me and and indicated they know how to fix this. Yesterday FordPass updated for the first time since April 13th. So something is going on and I don't think my dealer is responsible. Ford contacted my dealer and had them order another part, I think it might be the GWM to go along with the RFA. He sent me a private message so I don't know if he wants his handle mentioned. He got the ball rolling and I am very appreciative.

What is a “token” that you speak of? I can inquire when I take my car in tomorrow and report back.

This is pretty much all the advisor said to me over the phone, too, but I will be inquiring more when I see her tomorrow.
