I waited 160 days for a Model Y that I ordered back in August and am fine with waiting 300+ for a Mach-E BUT I need to have some range of certainty.

What I didn't like about the Tesla process was the crazy estimated date changes. The Mach-E process was supposed to be better but I can't plan anything if I can't tell if Ford will delivery any of my orders in 2 months or 6+ months. At this point, since I don't have a production date I'm thinking 3+ months but realistically it might be 6 months.

Too bad the Tesla pickup is the dumbest looking vehicle I've seen since the Pontiac Aztek
Personally I think the CyberTruck is uglier than the Ass-tek. (Us Pontiac guys have been maligning the Ass-tek pretty much since day 1.) ??

The worst part is that the Aztek’s Buick sibling was actually a decent looking vehicle in its day.

They had to try pretty hard to make it as bad as it was. “Let’s take an AMC Gremlin and make it super ugly.”

“And then take it to the guy who owns the ugly stick to make it even uglier.” ??

Q: How is a GV70 an inferior car?
A: It runs on gas

Answered your own question.

Sorry about your dealership allocation. ?
Gas isn't inferior to electric. Neither is GV70 inferior to Mach E. The opposite is true. Not in the same class even.

Agreed. If I were into "blaming", I'd point first at the dealer system and their highly variable ethical standards. Next, I'd blame the bitcoin miners and their ravenous consumption of microchips. Last, I'd blame FoMoCo for inadequately "managing" their archaic "corporate-dealer-consumer" sales model AND failing to address the microchip supply problem in a timely way.
I admit I've been naive and got myself into this frustrating situation without sufficient prior knowledge of Ford and special ordering. Congrats to you for being willing to "drive to Richmond" for an MME. I'm still looking for "local" options and adamantly trying to avoid ADM while also having the MME I seek. (I'm also looking at EV6 and Ioniq 5 but, just as you say, there's good and bad dealers with huge ADM involved there too.)

I actually flew to Richmond and drove home. Technicality. Lol. I know it’s not what everyone wants to do. I’m impatient once I decide on something. It cost me $2500 and I’m okay with that.

I think you’ll have a lot better options in CA. I also chose to limit myself to my exact build. If I was more flexible or willing to wait even another few weeks I probably would have found something within a few hours drive.

I don’t think you were naive. I don’t know if anyone really understands the Ford ordering system even FMC themselves. There’s so much in the process that is literally chance. It’s like hitting the jackpot on the slot machine.

Theres also so much that most dealers won’t share or won’t be truthful about. I can’t imagine most dealers will share the number of orders they have pending, their allocation numbers or your place in their “line.” I live 25 minutes from the biggest Ford truck dealer in the country. Does that mean their MME allocation is better? Does that mean I’d get mine sooner from them? What if they have more pending orders? It would be nice if there was more transparency in the process.

They don't.

And the dealer doesn't, because when that Mach-E is made, they'll see it for more than you were paying for it.

In the end, the only one that loses is you as you buy an inferior car.
Or a better car. My Ioniq 5 is a cancelled Mach E that Ford just kept moving the delivery date back on. Also, with all the problems that I have been seeing in this forum is probably a better car. I was just thinking I should get a sticker for my back window that says "Hey Ford, this could have been a Mach E if you had just delivered it".

(Day 70 of predicted 196-day wait, or is it 280 or whenever.) I'm still here because I'm looking for "good news". Today, fordauthority.com "plant status" shows Cuautitlan MME assembly plant is back at full capacity.
However, it still seems that I probably won't receive an MME until July... maybe.

As others have advised, I've opened my mind to options. I've looked at nearby Ford dealer inventories for the MME model I seek, with no ADM. No success, but still looking.

I've also looked for Hyundai Ioniq5 and Kia EV6 inventories. As their newly arriving inventories grow, I encounter the same quandary: keep waiting (and hoping "my dealer" will honor Ford's price guarantee) or pay some dealer markup on the arriving Korean BEVs. This forum has been a great source of information/opinion. Some folks offering great advice for the MME buyer and those looking for options in the face of delays. I'm looking at markups on Kia and Hyundai BEV offers between $4-5K with deliveries in the Feb/March timeframe. It's good to have choices and not feel trapped. Oh what shall I do?

Yeah, because the Ioniq 5 will have ZERO issues, lol. You're seeing issues on a car that's been out for over a year, I'm sure the Ioniq's issues will start/have started already. At least it seems like Ford is really starting to nail down what is causing these issues so it isn't a lengthy stay at the shop. The Ioniq is going to be a lot of growing pains for sure.

His disappointment in Ford is well-earned and it's okay to express it on this forum like hundreds of others have already done, don't you think? I'll take your comment as wry humor. He's free to waste his time as he pleases. ;)
I probably will drop off this forum if I opt for one of the other non-MME BEV deals I've at last located (with $4-5K markups). However, I will not give up my MME order even if it's only filled next Fall, thus giving some value to perusing this forum even if I owned an Ioniq 5. I don't see why you'd care. It's not heresy to buy something other than a Ford Mach e, right? :D Who knows, maybe he and I will trade in slightly used Ioniq 5s for a new Ford MME or own both.

Hold off the Ioniq 5 or don’t pay a dime of markup. I know two Floridans trying to sell theirs because they didn’t like it and CarMax and Carvana are offering garbage. They are going through the private sale route.

EV6 is great but cramped and has a cheap interior. Also don’t pay a dime of markup.

If you get an Ioniq 5/EV6 AWD or MME of any trim at MSRP I’d strongly consider them assuming you an older car you need to replace and have tax liability for two credits in 2022. If not… just wait.

My quandary: wait for ordered Mach e (and hope no markup) OR buy available Hyundai or Kia BEV now with Markup. It's left me wondering which color do I like best. ;)

Personally? No I don’t think the anger with Ford is well earned. I can understand disappointment, but that’s it. Supply chains are a mess and not just for Ford. I’m waiting on new gears for our Jeep Wrangler restoration. We’re now in excess of 3 months late. The MME is very popular, has limited production and is being allocated to all 50 states. Many of the MME alternatives are sold only in CARB states. And we haven’t even mentioned (in this post) the chip/module shortages.
