My Mache is now just over 3 years old I usually change at 3 years I have had a deposit on Porsche Macan Electric for 3 years and car is now available to order But experiencing the drop in Value of EV's I am nervous forking out £73k for an EV. The Mach e has been brilliant but would not consider new as there are 24reg with very low mileages at around £40k mark for extended range premium . This seems the sensible option but how do I differentiate if it is the new model 24 with new range and motor improvement

I'm in the same place right now. My take; assuming PCP financing always has a Return to Dealer option, I see that as the safest way of mitigation against EV depreciation right now. Especially with the amount of 0% deals around it can work out cheaper over 3 years than financing a pre-register car.

I looked at the Macan EV but in my area Macans are already pretty common and I always have a preference for driving something a little different. I've got an order in for a Lotus Eletre S due next month-ish hopefully. It's a £110k car but it's 0% where the current residual balloon estimate is quite high (i.e. probably not realistic) so the deposit and monthly payments are practically the same as my AWD Ext Premium Mach E were 3 years ago. I've no interest in keeping it after 3 years so will be handed back regardless of residuals.

Or you could do some upgrades to the Mach-e and keep it for three more years. Shock absorbers, new wheels”choose a lighter weight”, new tires “ev purposed”, spoilers, stripes, ceramic coating or even a total wrap! Do some interior upgrades, panoramic roof sunshade , floor mats, seat covers, window tint and change that cabin filter.

Hi I now have realised I purchased 5 year warranty so panic off just did no fancy owning EV without warranty
I had a deposit on Lotus but bailed out after seeing how big it was
I actually just like changing cars so will find any excuse to put my case to the resident Boss My "Sunday cars" get changed almost yearly
The MME is now the longest everyday car I have owned for about 10 years
What shocks will make ride more comfortable (that will make boss very happy)

I have been following the estimated value on my car for a while now through autotrader.
And it had been plummeting by about a £1000 a month but I have noticed since about June it is no longer going down so much, now it's only £100-£200 a month in fact some months I have seen it rise slightly. Currently my April 22 car at 23300 miles is estiamted at £26,240, this is now higher than my settlement price. So it looks like the depreciation on my car is starting to stabilise a bit. This is just going by autotrader though.

You might want to test drive a Macan. At the recent Electrify Expo in NY a friend test drove one while I drove a Taycan. He found the Macan soft, sloppy, and lumbering, the exact opposite of the Taycan I was in.

I’ve liked the Macan EV ever since the concept came out.

But for the price difference compared to my used 2021 GTPE? I’m just not tempted at all.

It’s definitely nicer than my car, but not $70k plus trade in nicer.

If money were no object, I’d take the Macan 4S. The 2025 MME sure does have a lot going for it though.

Great shout!

Got to 40 months & almost 100,000 miles but with HVB still at 94% SoH considered changing the MME.

Need something I can get the tools in so e-Tron GT/Taycans (same car underneath!) are out of the question.

Got quotes for the new Capri and latest MME but no model has everything old Stangy has so in the end decided to keep it and run it into the ground.

Just deciding on a full wrap to make it appear a different car and feel, just as you suggest…….great minds……

Either Highland Green with some Bullitt nods, a white Shelby vibe or possibly a rally rip-off colouring.

Been offered £13k for the old nag so can’t lose much more on it.

Been an incredible car, another 575 mile trip to Glasgow planned for tomorrow - anybody at the Gretna services hayrack at around 8am and I’ll buy you a cofffee☕

Here’s a link for the shock absorbers, this guy did some extensive testing. Other options to a better ride are lighter smaller wheels that let you use a tire with a larger sidewall, it’s choice of looks and comfort , you could start by exploring what other people have tried on this forum, like tire pressure .

Lots of deliberation and number crunching decided to push the green light on a 2024 GT. Macan was tempting to get that Porsche badge again but got a flush of sensibility and the cost to swap to the GT was 1/3 of Macan plus I actually like the look of the Mache I have had more complements about the looks of the Mache than ever with my previous 3 Macans just have to negotiate the" wife tax" now

I'd be tempted by the Taycan if I really wanted a Porsche (read sports car). The Macan is a mushy-ride SUV with a Porsche badge. Not interested.

The Taycan is amazing I love it, but I would have to have a second car I think due to cargo space.
