Ford Streaming.. What does it include?

My SO recently got a Tesla, and I'm loving the integrated Spotify app. I am investigating the Ford Streaming service to see if it's worth it.

I know it gets you Youtube and NBC (who actually uses that one? ). I know in the marketing materials they mention Amazon Music and Spotify. But there is no spotify app in sync. Does that mean that the only way to access it is Through Alexa?

Yes. I can use android auto for Spotify, but it might be nice to have a solution that's not tied to my phone.

There is no dedicated app unfortunately. Everything is controlled via Alexa commands. You'll get a basic screen with media controls, but no access to playlists or anything like that. I really wish there was an app because I do use it quite a bit. But yeah, all media commands for Ford streaming, as far as audio, are done through Alexa.

Unlimited plays of "Ford I have a dumb idea" but there's 30 minutes of Ford ads before 5 minutes of the 'Feature Film"

When I was playing around with it, I told the integrated Alexa to play one of my playlists and it was through some sort of integrated Amazon music app direct from the car, not streaming through the app up from my phone so that was cool.

We use Amazon music as our music service.

If you have the ability you can turn your phone into a hotspot and then connect the car to it, and mess around with the entertainment features and other things and you will see how it would be if you had the Ford service.

I have done that for youtube and it works pretty well! Just trying to avoid alexa haha. *insert conspiracy theories here*

If they did have an in car app it’d have to be made by Spotify, who surely won’t sign up for that as they can much more easily gather data about you and your phone from your phone. Not to mention everything on your network (along with any work network, or any Wi-Fi you hop on and have the app open) The Spotify desktop app has been banned from my house because if it’s obnoxious probing.
