Scores of new and many used MMEs available here. Some of the GTs are $78K - $84 K.
Of course, Ford's refusal to fix defective previous MME models would have nothing to do w/ any inventory.

Ford will have to adjust pricing again or curtail production. They need to be within a few hundred dollars from MY. The concept that MME is so beautiful and superior that it commands thousands more is total crap.

California is not the rest of the country...
My comment about 'piling up' was just meaning there are more available, some dealers have a lot and that is a good thing, California has many high population areas which equals more allocations.

Some dealers across the nation had zero where now they have 1 or more. It will be good for consumers more inventory=lower prices.

Can we expect a new post every few days of people complaining that greedy buyers are price gouging dealers by taking advantage of market based price reductions/incentives? Those greedy buyers should just pay MSRP despite the dealers having a lot full.

Most likely. Consumers are going to complain no matter what, some of them don't know how to do anything else LOL. I am expecting the lower price to come down from Ford not the dealers just giving them away and losing money. Just wait until they do switch to the one price sale model like Tesla in a few years, they will still try and haggle a no haggle price ? ?‍♂

Our Ford dealer here in Arroyo Grande CA (pop. 16,000) has 4 on their lot, none pre-sold.

I drove a Tesla (Model Y) for the first time last week - a rental car. After all the negative comments from others here I was expecting to be underwhelmed. But it is a very nice car. The single display was a non issue when I thought I would hate it.

So the competition is real, and it is good.

Edit: oh, and I charged at a Chargepoint using an adapter in the trunk. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
I test drove a MME GT and a MY LR today... I have to say I liked the MY better. I felt the bouncyness I've read about in the MME even in the GT.
There were a ton a people at the Tesla dealership in line waiting to pick up their cars and lots of people test driving like myself.
Hardly anyone at the Ford dealership which had a great selection of vehicles both MME's and Lightning trucks and Raptors.

We traded in our MY for a BMW i4 after experiencing multiple "phantom breaking" events last year. I tired of being a beta tester for Tesla. Of course, YMMV.

Unfortunately, we're all beta testers for 1st gen EV.
Yup. So I guess if we want an EV, we have to pick who we trust to beta-test for. Personally, I wouldn't want to beta-test for Tesla, knowing they pull stuff like the ultrasonic sensors before they have vision-based parking assist features available, and even now, they aren't as good as the ultrasonic sensor based parking assist. Some people are willing to accept that as part of having Tesla cars, which are updated very frequently in software. New EV companies like Tesla and Rivian are far ahead in new tech and software, and legacy auto makers are not so good at the software side, but generally do far better at the parts of cars that apply to all their cars, EV or ICE. Both sides are continuing to improve (at varying rates), but all EV owners will be beta testing their cars for several more years at least.

Yup, got to pick and choose. The one thing that Tesla got going for it is that it seems to have their battery and motor sorted out. You don't hear much about catastrophic failure where the car dies and won't start or drive with Tesla anymore. Whereas other OEMs are still dealing with those problems.

I'm researching other EVs now for my next car, and everyone from Porsche, Audi, Kia, Ford, BMW all have problems with their car shutting down, among other gremlins. I really want to to get an Audi GT, but their forum is full of horror stories about drivetrain failure.

There is a dealer around me with close 8+ MMEs they act clueless about rebates. They still believe people will pay a premium to buy them off the lots instead of ordering

No people aren't buying them as much as they used to their a lot more options out there that are less costly. When Ford had inventory problems and there was lotta hype and nobody knew about all the issues with software and batteries etc. so much better.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Eligible For $3K Inventory Discount
"The amount of this particular discount varies depending on trim, with 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium and California Route 1 models getting a $2,000 incentive, while Select and GT customers can nab a $3,000 discount. However, as one might imagine, there is a big catch to this particular deal – only 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E models ordered before May 1st qualify, which means that it’s limited to vehicles that are already sitting on dealer lots."

There are 4 MMEs on our local dealer's lot here in Arroyo Grande.
