Fordpass - remote control functions not working

So I have Android 14 and my phone as a key does not work anymore. However, I can still use FordPass to remotely preheat my car and lock/unlock the doors, etc. But I CANNOT use the remote control functions, i. e., cannot open or close the windows or open the frunk or hatch. Any insights into this?

Standing right next to the car. If some of the FP functions work, as I described, shouldn't all of the functions work? That's what I don't get.

Remote start, unlock and lock are functions that do not require Bluetooth...

Yup, they broke Paak for many people with their latest update. Nothing you can do to fix it.

But that is sort of my point. Why don't all the functions work with the same communication protocol?

It sounds like a broken record but, same issue. Past couple of days the PAAK works for all remote functions EXCEPT trying to start the car. I can pre-heat and all that stuff but, when i get in to car and the dash states 'press the start button', I do just that but I get the pop up that 'no key detected' again and again and again and at different times of day. Past 2 days! Call it dramatic but, this chronic Ford ineptitude would have me re-think purchasing this vehicle initially or in the future!

All functions are not the same communication protocol though.

Some FordPass functions are direct-connect. Your smartphone connected directly to your vehicle. (Bluetooth only with the Mach-E. Ethernet/Wi-Fi not leveraged in FordPass)

Other features in FordPass are cloud based. FordPass sends command to Motorcraft cloud server. Cloud server sends command to vehicle. (Cellular)

So if PAAK is broken, and the other Bluetooth (direct connection) features are not functioning, that's all independent of the cloud based functions like lock/unlock, climate, setting target charge,...........

Right, I don't think anyone is having issues with the cloud/motorcraft functions. This is PaaK only, which as I understand if is BLE. The "Controls" button does not light up despite having an active key and Bluetooth on.

You're the first I've heard on a Pixel not having the PaaK key issue. Are you on FordPass 5.10.1 along with the January Pixel security update?

Right, I don't think anyone is having issues with the cloud/motorcraft functions. This is PaaK only, which as I understand if is BLE. The "Controls" button does not light up despite having an active key and Bluetooth on.

My Lightning key programmed for my MME works great everytime - 100% of the time.

FP app works 90% of the time.

I was having the same issue with PAAK not working but I got a phone update yesterday and my PAAK is now back working. I'm running Android 14 with the January 1 security patch
