FordPass for my wife's Explorer ST says we're in Chicago. I guess I have that to look forward to when I finally activate my car

Pretty sure GT/GTPE owners have a functional frunk button. I think the newer delivery Selects/Premiums do too.
Yes, us GT and GT-PE owners are supposed to have a functioning frunk button. I don’t even have a second row of buttons. ?‍♂?

EDIT: Oh yeah, FP also thinks that I am in Detroit and I am getting spurious false messages that my doors are being opened. I am staring out the window at my car. Nobody has been near it. ??

I can confirm the frunk button works with a Premium delivered two weeks ago. Don't have the 80% charge fix but I have BlueCruise and that sketch app.

FordPass is pretty wacky. Keeps telling me the driver open is opened with SecuriAlerts (which I've disabled). I've given up trying to fix it.

I've got a GT and no frunk button in app. Also on latest and all my notifications stopped working. Checked in the OS settings and they're enabled....

It's a piece of garbage, but no worse then any other app I have that connects to real HW.

I'm struggling with FordPass. Same as everybody else - PaaK setup on iOS is a goat rodeo. It thinks I'm in Detroit when trying to set departure times. The thing crashes like the Hindenburg, and it times out so often that I think this is the secret name for it - Timeout! And, I have stable gig internet.

Does anybody know a feedback channel that we can use? This POS is Charlie Sheen levels of unstable.
I’m not scheduled to pick up my E until later this month but am going to start using “Charlie Sheen levels of unstable” right now.

I think even uncontacted tribed in the Amazon understand that after his antics. Winning!

One of the development managers of FordPass is pretty active in these forums. You might try messaging him (@dsuyang)

Thank you! I have messaged him. I hope that Ford would reach out to some of the folks here with issues. Most people would be happy to help test and improve the product. We all want a better experience.

Fordpass has worked a LOT better for me since I quit trying to use PAAK!!
huh, the ONLY thing I use in fordPass is Paak, never look at it otherwise. I turned auto-update off, and have been running 3.32.0 PAAK on Android without any issues.

FWIW, PaaK and FordPass have worked pretty well for me(I'm on Android) since I picked up the car on Monday. I was having significant battery drain on my phone, but I found references to this is another thread and once I modified the app permissions, I'm no longer seeing the phone battery drain.

Had my car for 13 days now, and yes, the FordPass app isn't totally great – lots of bugs and issues.

What is good: I have two materialized keys that actually work (also on frunk), and the car is a pleasure to drive!

What is 'bad': The phone app and sync etc. isn't working as it should, but as a software engineer, I knew I was indirectly signing up for beta testing when ordering the car. I'm using Android btw. Guessing Ford is working hard to update the app, and I'm hoping they will prioritize this.

You don't really need the app, but I hope FordPass and Android Auto will function well together soon.

I'd be happy to provide detailed feedback to @Ford Motor Company as a good beta tester would do.

Nobody has a (working) frunk button in FordPass. Some people have a non-functional frunk button
My Frunk button in FordPass works. I have used it multiple times.

Restricting permissions will make PaaK less reliable. For me (Samsung Note 9), FordPass version 3.35.2 works with all permissions granted. You especially want to enable all location services for the app. That seemed to make a big difference for me. And I have no battery draining issue. Before 3.35.0, I had to restrict location services to prevent battery draining. That problem seems to be solved.

As ridiculous as it sounds, placing your phone on the charging pad prior to starting the car is the most reliable way to get PaaK to work in the car.

As ridiculous as it sounds, I didn't order this car to be able to start it with my phone. Guess I'm getting old, but I have no problem having the physical key in my pocket – don't even have to take it out to be able to open, start and drive the car.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still hoping software issues will be upgraded and fixed, but these are just 'nice to have' stuff – not essentials.
