Has Ford announced where the Mach-e fits in their SUV line-up? It's bigger than the Escape/Bronco Sport and priced significantly higher. Mach-e is smaller than the Bronco and Explorer, but priced similarly. So, that leaves the Edge. Is Mach-e replacing the Edge? Or, is Mach-e going to be it's own brand, kind of like Dodge and Ram?

we're a long way off from the Mach E totally replacing anything in the lineup. The BEV nature puts it in a different class and different lineup

As they build more EVs, and as they get their costs down on EVs, you might start to see them bulk out in features that allow them to "replace" a traditional model, but right now they couldn't dump any existing SUV for the Mach E

And I don't see it becoming its own brand. For now it's within the Mustang line, so they can have a second "horse" based theme alongside the Bronco, but eventually as these move out of experiments and novelty, they'll just be Fords. The battery electric F-150 will definitely just be a Ford F-150. That model will be the beginning of the true mainstreaming of EVs within Ford

Actually, dimension-wise it is pretty close to the size of the escape. However, I don't see the Mach E replacing the escape in Ford's lineup: they are in 2 different segments/price brackets. The escape is the entry level SUV that "gets the job done" without pizzazz or flash. The Mach-E is targeted as flashy, fun, and sporty, with the ability to get the job done.

As Ford fleshes out their lineup with more BEV's I still see the Mach E as being the fun and sporty vehicle, with the other ones being more utilitarian and/or comfort oriented. The Mach E has a stiff ride like a mustang should; things like an Edge or Explorer will have a softer ride with less emphasis on performance.

The Mach E (and Model Y, e tron etc) are more of a hatchback than a SUV. They just don't have the ground clearance to be true SUVs, they are marketed as SUVs because people will pay more for a SUV vs a hatchback or station wagon.
