Fox damage on front grille. When do these grilles actuate?

Unfortunately I hit a fox last night and ended up with front grille damage. Does anyone know what's behind this area and when do the grilles open and close?

The grills open and close as required for battery cooling. The radiator is right there. Thats a bit of an expensive part as well.

I'm still of the opinion that it was dumb of Ford to put those delicate shutters out in the open without a grille to protect them. I hope they do better with the skunkworks UEV platform. I know I am probably wishing for something that they’re not going to do, given that it is counter to almost all EV design language. It’s also dumb, but what do you expect from 2-leggers?

ESPECIALLY on the Rally. Youre telling me something designed to go fast over bumps in the woods can't handle lightly brushing a curb? I repaired mine last week with some glue, it is a pain to get at from behind because you have to remove the bucket and covers from the frunk and the bumper. Ford won't sell just those pieces, you have to get the entire black assembly on the bumper itself, close to $2000.

I don’t think the rally edition was actually designed to do any rally racing. That picture looks painful but I hope it worked out.

Looks worse than it is, the bumper is maybe held in with 10 bolts total, just take your time with the clips and don't try to take any shortcuts. Luckily this car has a carfax as long as my arm so half the bolts and clips were kindly pre-removed! Thanks Bennet Dunlop Ford of Regina for not only crashing the shit out of this car but also doing a shit job fixing it.

I looked all over and could only find the files for the fins, and not the actual bracket. If you have the files for the brackets in behind that the fins attach to i'd be interested.

Yeah unfortunately that is all I know of as well. The same thing AOSK made the 3d scans for.

I did, however what I'm looking for is the part on the other side that actually bolts to the main assembly that the other end of the fins interfaces with. There's also the bracket the actuator itself attaches to. I may just make a new one from scratch in CAD that's stronger with gussets, I just don't have a 3D scanner to copy it 1:1.
