Sorry for the dumb question but what is Palapp and where can I find it? What is it used for? From the discussion it sounds like it tracks the shipping of the Mach E.

That's another KC rail yard where your car will get loaded onto the next train. The tracking is not very consistent. It may show pending status or it may get updated to delivered. Delivered would just mean that the truck delivered it to Voltz where it waits for its next train ride.

https://www.palsapp.com/

It tracks truck transfer portions of your car's journey (sometimes). Enter your VIN and go!

Thank you. How about a rail tracker?

I have no experience with rail tracking, but based on other posts it's not so simple and may not even be possible - varies by railroad.

Isn't it one particular rail line that transports them out of Mexico?

Yes, but nobody has found a way to track that one. It's radio silence from the time it leaves Mexico to the time it shows up in KC.

Yes - KC Southern to KC. From there, it could be others depending on the direction.
Voltz ramp (I think) indicates Norfolk Southern heading north or east. That was the destination for solarmoo900's car in Palsapp.

So . . . IF you can get the railcar number from your dealer, and the railcar may change in KC (mine did) you can track on Norfolk Southern - which is the rail line mine was on from Mexico, and then from KC to Ohio by calling their automated system.
You call . . . 1-800-635-5768, select option 2 at the first prompt, then option 2 at the second prompt. Then it will ask you for the letters of the railcar - 4 letters that you enter by the keypad corresponding numbers and press #, then enter the six digits of the railcar number from the keypad and press # again.
This will tell you the last place the railcar was scanned and the date and time. You will not get a scan after it leaves Mexico until it arrives in KC. Then when it moves to a ramp in KC, and then some places along the way. I am guessing you will also be Norfolk Southern once it ships from KC since you too are East of KC in Illinois.

This was also posted elsewhere on the forum, but I cannot remember where, so I am just repeating it.

My status is:
Dispatched on
Feb 22 2021

Just curious if I should expect the car this week (KC is only an 8 hour drive from Chicago) or just still wait until my expected date (March 11th). Was hoping to see if anyone here had a timeline of palsapp to Chicago but I don't think i've seen many Illinois members

I was actually able to get location info on the KSC rail car via the CSX 800 number, unfortunately by the time I did that the rail car was empty and in it's way back to Mexico, and my MME sitting in KC. Shortly afterward, I saw the MME move via truck to the NS ramp via palsapp. I am now tracking the NS rail car using the CSX 800 number for the KC to NY leg of the trip. I would speculate that CSX has access to multiple companies' status info......

Note that you will have to get the rail car number for each leg of the trip from Vehicle Visibility through the dealer.

Thanks, I knew it was probably posted earlier but now that I have a VIN number and I see a tentative build date things are becoming more real to me and I’m paying closer attention to the logistics of moving them from Mexico to KC. Do you know if Ford has shipped the backlog of cars parked in the lots around the assembly plant? Does anybody have an idea of how many cars a typical train would transport on each run? I assume the rail cars return to Mexico and the assembly plant empty and I wonder how many trains are put together when they return to haul our cars each day, or week? I Don’t expect answers but I’m just curious to see if perhaps somebody does know. I know in January the rail lines were the bottleneck in the process of getting the cars to market and I just wonder if that’s still the case. Sorry for asking repeat questions that many of you have already dealt with; don’t want to be a PIA.

Can only the dealer use Vehicle Visibility?
