So mine is still not fixed. They had it in for an hour and a half yesterday. The part they put in yesterday did clear some communication error code they were seeing on the button but apparently didn't actually fix the actual functional problem (no light, press multiple times to open). So they ordered another part yesterday that's supposed to arrive this morning and I'm going up again this afternoon.

Not thrilled. But I can't tell if it's just a lack of service knowledge (never seen this problem before, poor diagnosis, or what) or just a really bizarre problem that isn't easy to fix.

I'm not sure what this second part is but he did say it's a bigger part that they have to take more of the door apart to swap - like remove the glass and stuff. So who knows. Maybe this is the "sensor" that someone else had mentioned having replaced.
That's frustrating. I hope that the new part fixes the issue.

I"m hoping that it is just a lack of knowledge, because I don't want to have to go through the same thing with them having to remove the glass etc. If they have to do that, I don't trust them not to mess something up, specifically the tint.

Like I said, hopefully this new part works for you - once you know what the part it, please let us know. I plan on letting the service advisor know what you've had done when I go in on Monday. Maybe it will help with a lot of troubleshooting and they can get all the necessary parts at once.

It's fixed!

The work order doesn't list the exact part numbers but based on some googling I think it's these:

Latch: LJ8Z-58219A65-H
Actuator assembly: LJ8Z-14A626-AB

Pretty sure they tried the latch first and then had to replace the "actuator assembly" - which actually just appears to be the whole external trim piece with the keyless entry panel and such - but it looks like it has some sensor/module attached to it that was likely the problem. I think the original error they saw said it wasn't communicating with the latch, which is why they tried that first. But I'm wondering if that was just a symptom of the actuator assembly failure and they maybe didn't need to replace the latch. Who knows.

Here's the detail from the work orders if you can make more of it than me:

Great news! Happy that it was fixed.

Thank you for all the info. I will be taking this with me when I go in on Monday. Hopefully they’ll just order both parts and solve the issue the first time.

Appreciate it! ??

Took my car in today and was told that the outside molding had to be replaced. Waiting for the parts to come in - should be a couple of days. Hoping this gets done before the end of the week

Sounds like they're going straight for the second part that I had installed - and my guess is, that should fix yours the first time, I hope, anyway.

Yeah we shall see what happens. Once I go back I will give a, hopefully, final update

I've got the exact same issue, so I guess this fix is in my future also.

I would suggest taking a copy of the repair order that @ack154 shared. It might expedite your diagnosis and service…maybe

I’m still waiting for the parts to come in for mine.

That's crazy. My first part came in 2 days. The second one was there the next morning (not sure if they already knew it was at a local warehouse or what, I was shocked).

I'm almost to my 10k service, so I was just going to wait and add that on. It's an irritating issue, but doesn't kill the car. Thanks for the tip to bring the notes.

Yeah I was expecting the same timing as you had but clearly not the case. I spoke to them on Friday and they said they will call next week to schedule a time to come in

So 2 weeks later and still haven’t heard from the dealer about the parts or being able to take my car back in for the fix. This is getting annoying. I can only imagine how long it would take if it was a bigger issue ?

@Ford Motor Company can you do anything to help expedite this? It’s pretty ridiculous
