Dealer says I need new front struts at 41k miles and 5 years on my 2021 job 1 premium STD/RWD.

I've upgraded with the Eibach progressive springs on both front and rear.

Any recommendations for front strut replacements?

Don't really want to go back with OEM unless I can get longer than 41k out of them and/or it'll help improve the car's ride. Also thinking about doing the Koni rear shock mod for improved ride.

Thanks.

Do your front struts really need replacing? Just because the dealer says they do, not sure you should believe them. I know of several '21 Mach-E owners with over 100K miles that haven't needed to replace their struts/shocks and there is no indication that they are defective yet. Are your struts leaking oil? Does the car bottom out a lot in front and or does it continually float/bounce driving down the freeway? I'm not saying they aren't bad, it's just I don't trust dealers. Maybe get a second and third opinion?

That said, the only struts I know of that are better than the OEM's are the Bilstein B6's. However they will cost you around $250 per strut plus shipping and import fees from Europe. They are firmer than the OEM's and should last longer being a premium strut. Part numbers for the Bilstein B6's: Front left: 22-343246, Front right: 22-343253 and both rears are 24-343275. About my Koni rear shock mod, I have a used set you can have if you want that I took off a member's car when I changed out the OEM springs for Rally springs. Let me know on that one.

Hey @markboris, Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your help. I don't blindly trust dealers either. I hear a knocking or clunking sound from the from driver's side front when going over a bump and there's a vibration from the front as well. The dealer said they saw leakage. I haven't had time to look at the strut myself yet and I haven't seen any oil spots in the driveway. I do plan on checking it out myself before I buy anything. Just wanted to see what my options were for replacements. I'll do the work myself.

I'd gladly take the Koni shocks if you're sure you want to get rid of them. Let me know what I owe for packaging/shipping etc. I'll DM you my address.

I have your address from shipping the BSKT illuminated ponies. 😊

I'll get back to you tomorrow and ship them out.
