Yes, that's what I'm saying. I've never had an issue until today. Only new thing is having done many module updates. I'm not sure else my garage door is opening itself, it's not a WiFi connected system.
That's interesting. I don't have a workshop manual, but I'd be willing to bet that there are only 2 wires connecting the GDO to the car: +12v power and ground. No control lines, no buses, etc. Homelink systems are typically independent devices.

My frunk and trunk open on its own. When I pulled into the garage as soon. As I hit the button to power off the car. The frunk and trunk pop open. The trunk only open about a foot or so, it didn't open all the way open of where I have it set too.

I had just pulled into my garage and hit the pre-programmed garage door button on the visor to close the garage. Still in the driver's seat, with the car turned off, I felt the car jar and heard a crunch sound. OMG! The rear hatch door and (I later found out) the frunk had opened while the garage door was closing. I was able to stop the garage door and close the hatch door but now there is a scratch on my sweet Mach-E's rear door. I don't know how this happened and worry that it could occur again. Anyone else have this occur? Any ideas why?
Got the same scratches. Insurance company agreed to dealer estimate of $1131 to fix.

@Ford Motor Company My 2023 GTPE just did this scenario (trunk & frunk opening) right after we parked at the dog park parking lot. Not cool. My dogs (puppies) jumped out of the car. Thankfully they are trained enough to not go far.

So I have a life hack for everyone!

So this is a common issue obviously. It happened to me several times in my 2021 GT PE.
There were several scratch gouges down the backside. These were from the hinges.

It opened randomly upon walking up as well approaching from the front. Just random.

I was going to look into trying to turn into warranty but I ended up trading it in for a 24.

So far, the new one has not done this at all. So I am guessing it has been addressed.

That said, I didn’t want to take any chances. So I came up with a cheap and easy solution to protect the car from the garage door hinges.

These rubber feet/stoppers can be purchased on Amazon. They have a width of 1 and 1/2 inches. They have a built in washer and 1/4” bolt hole. $7.29 as of this writing. However, the size is most important, not where you buy them or comparable. I am guessing you guys will buy them all out of stock when you see this. lol.

From there, you need some long hex bolts 1/4 inch diameter. With a length of 4” minimum. 4 and 1/2 is better. I ended up with 4” and the worked but the threads could be a tick longer.
So then, you just need some 1/4” nuts.

I purchased the hardware at Menards for about $4 total.

So for a little over $11 you can do this and protect from any accidents like that.

The key is, these do not bind the door or cause any issues. They simply provide a barrier between the edge of those sharp door hinges and can spin and roll.

This has been happening to me over the last 6 months every once in a while. I almost always use PAAK by the way. Once had small collision with garage door as back out, but stopped nearly in time. It happened again last night for no reason.

It just happened to me to. Wonder if the last update is causing it.

I pulled into my garage and turn off the car. At the same time the frunk and trunk open on its own. The trunk only open about a foot so didn't hit the garage.

At least it happen while I was home and not driving. Or off somewhere and it opens up while in the store.

People need to keep an eye open for this problem. Ford needs to look into it to.

Just to add to this thread in case it’s relevant later, this exact thing just happened, including the ~ 1 foot trunk opening. The trunk fully opened, completing both stages.

@Ford Motor Company you can add me to the list of people this happened to. Woke this morning and noticed that my garage door was ever so slightly open. Turns out the trunk opened into it over night, pushing the garage door up slightly, denting it, and scratching up my trunk (especially the lip).

I'm pretty angry about this. I have a detached garage, so my car was locked using the walk-away feature, and neither my wife nor I carry our keys around the house. I didn't open the Fordpass app last night after I got home, and it wasn't on my recent apps this morning, so I don't think it magically opened itself and tapped the trunk button.

Since this is clearly a common issue, and I have an extended warranty, I'm hoping I can get Ford to fix the damage to my trunk (which is, luckily, fairly minor), but I won't hold my breath. They don't want to fix my seat where it's ripping in the same exact spot it seems to be happening for tons of other owners, sooooo . . . :-(

Anyone have any idea yet why this is happening? IS there a command log we can check out to see how/when the command was sent?

Hi Trevor! I can look into your Mach-E's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?
Is this something you can assist me with too? I am experiencing this
