I would have thought dog treats would also be acceptable ?
For me, yes, but I was bribing two-leggers (so doughnuts). ??

I would guess that Andy’s wife would have been just a little less accepting of me feeding their kids dog treats vs. doughnuts. ??

Is there a way to see if the modules have been updated without contacting the dealership?

The door pad method of opening the frunk is <door code> followed by the 7-8 button IIRC. The thing is that unless your job 1 car was updated by the dealer (or you via FDRS), it won't work. neither will the frunk button on FP (which you shouldn't be seeing unless it was updated). Try the suggestion made earlier and press the emergency button in the frunk and see if the thing makes a noise. If it does, it was updated (by a dealer at some point, perhaps while doing other work). If not, the icon on FP is a gremlin.
Ok, I give up… what’s “IIRC?” ?

Weird. I have a job 1 (assembled 12/20 into 1/21) and still no soft button for the frunk in the vehicle... but I can open the frunk via FordPass or the door keypad.
I have a job 1 and have no frunk button in sight anywhere.

Dealer updated lots of modules while troubleshooting my vehicle's broken connected navigation concerns. I think that was late last year or earlier this year. From that point, the b pillar frunk open worked.

The long missing FordPass button showed back up a few weeks (months) ago, and it works.

Only thing missing now is the sync button. It was surprising to me that OP has that button and nothing else, with no apparent dealer visit. Suggests maybe Ford is trailing an OTA? (Or we're missing some relevant details.)

My dealer would not do it, said it was modification and they would charge me their hourly charges and could take a few hours. I got a friend with forscan to update it for me. Works great.
I sm going to look into the cost for fordscan. Might be cheaper than paying the dealership for several hours of labor cost for each and every missing update.

FORScan is free for 2 months or $12 for a year. But it's not going to help you with module updates.

According to the door my MME was built 10/20. So my understanding is that it is a Job 1. The Frunk Button showed up the other day, but it is greyed out and doesn't seemed to work. Does anyone know what the next step is to get it to work? Is there a setting I need to change to enable the button? Or maybe it will never work on my MME based on the year.
Same build date as mine. My frunk started working when the 4.3.6 update came on the 10th of September. They sent a series of updates on the 7th, 9th, and 10th that made it happen. 4.2.5 on the 7th, 4.2.6 on the 9th, and finally 4.3.6 on the 10th.

It’s about $1000 for all the equipment needed, Need special cables, 12v charger to keep battery level up, plus a laptop, the forscan software is $50 for a 2day access. It’s not cheap. I thought about it but not worth it IMO for me
