You have free roadside assist...you could try them and see if they can help?

Thanks - have had mine for six months and only opened it once to test it.Not a single thing. Just took possession of it 2 days ago :/
as huntingpudel noted in the old ones if it pushes down a bit to clear the hook of the latch the screwdriver slips between the hood and the grill where the latch is and the latch moves sideways.Where would you recommend placing the screwdriver? Unfortunately the mechanical release is disengaged with the electrical one over-riding it. I can still attempt to hit the electrical release but it just spins without opening it further. We've tried placing a lot of pressure, a little pressure, side pressure, etc. onto the hood while simultaneously pressing the electrical release button on the app.
Are you suggesting that I try to place something on or near the latch itself while pressing the electrical release?
Not unless your 12V battery is dead.Never tried this but isn’t applying power to the leads inside the front access panel supposed to pop the frunk?
Glad to hear you got it open! But of course sorry to hear it was such a headache. I use my frunk often and really like it, so I hope once it’s fixed you’ll want to use yours. (Getting an F150 Lightning key fob with frunk button makes it all the better. There’s a thread on that.)Update! After spending hours trying to open/close this stupid frunk today, we finally got it open! One person pulled up really aggressively on the hood, and the other took their finger and messed with the latch mechanism. I think it is very likely that the cable is broken and/or there is an electronic glitch from trying to open it on the app on my phone.
Needless to say, I will probably never attempt to open that dumb frunk again. I am hopeful that the dealership will come up with a solution to fix the problem long-term.
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end. This morning I attempted to unlock the frunk through the phone on my app. It is now stuck partially open. It seems that the first unlatch took, but the second will not unlatch completely. It will not open or close from here. The manual release in the car does not do anything. We have tried multiple ways to push it back closed. We have tried to release it open while pulling up, pulling the manual, pressing the button the app, etc. We have also tried maneuvering a device to try and press the emergency frunk release inside of the frunk. Nothing is working. I can't drive it locked partially open. Help!! What have people done to solve this issue? I have searched the forums and it seems that ultimately some people have had to resort to take it into service and get the latch replaced. Ugh, so frustrating! Especially since I just got my vehicle 2 days ago, and can't drive it now.
Agree. That is the way to open the hood if the 12v battery is fully depleted. You could try hooking up a 12volt jumper to the cables in the bumper access hole, see if that does anything, worth a shot
What does the 7-8 do?Try it from the keypad? Punch in your number and then 7-8 immediately after and hold it. Probably won't work, but worth a shot.
Nice that Ford Motor Company monitors this and responds. This is the second post I’ve seen today with a response from Ford, I like it ?Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
It opens the frunk when pressed right after entering your keycode. What does the 7-8 do?
Thanks. I’m learning all kinds of new stuff tonight. It opens the frunk when pressed right after entering your keycode.
If the frunk doesn't open from the screen, PAAK, or manual release lever, the door code isn't going to do it. There is a mechanical issue with the latch release. OP probably will not be able to open their frunk ever again unless they have the dealer take it apart from underneath and replace the broken parts. If their 12V battery dies they will be screwed since the emergency release won't work either.
