As you might have heard, it’s been snowing in Buffalo! I’ve seen several threads about snow tire recommendations and snow performance (avoiding slides), but have not seen much about how fun it is to get this car sideways.

I have an AWD with stock tires and I had an absolute blast this morning (5:30am before stores were open) in an empty parking lot. With traction control off and that rear wheel bias, the car was surprisingly balanced “blowing donuts” and sliding sideways around turns. I was grinning from ear to ear!

does anyone else intentionally like to drive sideways in the snow with their MME? ?

For the safety police out there, yes my wife already informed me that this is reckless / juvenile behavior.

Apologies if this is a bit off topic....

I've never heard of blowing donuts. I have, however, heard of doing donuts, doing cheerios, and whipping shittys. (And may have partaken in such activities in my past)

What other phases do people use?

Maybe you can tell your wife you're practicing in case you lose traction in a more dangerous setting, like on the freeway. ?

I’ve tried this point, which I believe is 100% true. Too many people freak out in a slide and do all the wrong things. Like anything else, it takes practice. I think it’s should be part of drivers Ed. My wife still disagrees ?.

We live on a wide side street that is quiet. Whenever I turn in in wet, wet leaves, or snow/ice as soon as I can see its all clear I try to kick the back out and then recover. It is just too much fun!

This weekend I was looking to "do some donuts" in mud, growing up in maine I want to coat the mach-e in mud sometime, let it harden and drive around. I didnt have luck this weekend looking for good mud though, but someday.

I also told my wife this morning she should go to a parking lot and practice since she freaks out in snow.
