This is interesting. When I am coming up on a EZPass booth, I lay my transponder on the dash and it works fine. I wonder why it works for me but not others?

My neighborhood gate tag is RFID with a bar code. It is attached to the windshield under the dotted area and has always worked. I didn't put it where the dots are because the dots would cover the bar code and I didn't know about the infrared coating issue. All the time I spend in this forum and I missed that one!

Anyway, it all works for me, so maybe this is a Job 1 issue?

interesting. i'll try putting it there and see if there is an issue with the dots - there may be - if so, my other cars actually have a more old fashioned thing that is on velcro on the windshield so maybe i take it off the other car and put it on the mach e and see if that does the trick (and use the sticker thing on the other car). If that does not work, i sell the car (or move) :)

My development has the same type of sticker. I put mine as high up on my headlight as it will go. It works very well on front gate but is hit or miss on back gate for some reason.

OPs tag is a barcode not an RFID, I've always seen these types applied on the outside of vehicles.

Sounds like you have a similar sticker to what a carwash near me uses It has text on the side that faces inside the car, and a barcode that faces out the window. (Barcode was so they could use a hand scanner if their RFID system isn't working) I had a problem with them because their equipment was setup to only scan around the bottom corner of the windshields, so in the black dotted area it wouldn't work either even though my toll pass works fine there.

This is what I ended up doing for the carwash sticker, and it worked fine. I'd just roll down my window and hold it out by the side mirror as I pulled up and it worked great. I just took some packaging from something I had bought recently and cut part of the plastic out into a card basically.
