Sounds about right! Mine is at Tuttle Click Ford in Irvine
I see that you also have Infinity Blue (as do I). The color is dazzling when clean, but shows the least bit dirt immediately. I've always purchased white cars, because they are allegedly safer. I ordered Star White in early Jan ... eventually delivered in mid May. In early March, I saw that there was an Infinitely Blue on the dealer's lot ... being eager, I swapped my May Star White Bird in the Bush for the Infinity Blue bird in the hand. Don't regret it at all -- totally wonderful car. Truly, my only complaint is how often I need to wash it, on account of the color. - Larry W/Huntington Beach

The roof procedure does not involve removing any glass. I can't believe that 4 professional glass companies would reject the work for that.
I can tell you this, I contacted 2 other dealerships besides my local dealership and they all said the same thing. We can do them right now because we can't find anyone willing to do the work. They all said we are waiting for Ford to provide them answers on what's next.

Do these dealers have a body shop?

Very few dealerships up here have their own body shops. None of the ones I contacted, including my local dealership, has one. I would guess that 95% of the dealerships up here, regardless of brand, do not have their own in house body shops.

Assuming the "rental" will also be a MME. Anyone actually have this work done yet and rental supplied. Not doubting the recall work and substitute transportation, just wondering if dealers would be supplying MME's as the substitute.
Definitely will not be an MME. At my dealer it would not even be one of their cars. They contract with Enterprise and offered me the rental for the recall. I declined as I didn't need it, but they did offer.

Maybe that's the problem. The directions have steps for a glass company AND a body shop. If your dealer is expecting the glass company to do all of it, it makes sense that they would decline.

Mine has been at the shop for close to a month now waiting for the work to be done. It's apparently #3 in line to get it done so that makes me feel a little bit more at ease knowing that it won't be the very first guinea pig.

Dealership has been great and in communication the whole time though, they even offered to submit a form to Ford for me to be reimbursed one months car payment since I've been without the vehicle for so long, I consider that a win! (Assuming Ford says yes to the reimbursement, that is)

Eagerly waiting to get it back though!

You're kidding, right?

No, it won't be a Mach-E. They don't have spare Mach-Es sitting around. It will have 4 wheels, and gas in it (which you will replace).
1/2 kidding. It would be nice to replace with another EV for the duration of the repair. I do find it odd that they allow for 24 hour test drives with the EV, but would not allow one for this. I have yet to check with dealers in the area, but will inquire about it.

Huntington Beach Ford told me Thursday that: (1) they've done "a number of these" with allegedly no problems. (2) I could bring the car in Monday morning. (3) it would be a two day job. (4) they'd provide a free rental/loaner car for these two days. Seems straight forward. I'll report back if there are problems.
FOLLOW UP: Went smooth as silk. Brought it in Monday AM; Could have picked up Tuesday PM, only I had the body shop (which removed/replaced the windshield, headliner, etc.) repair some minor dings. No interior damage done during repairs.

Update : I contacted my dealer today and learned the following:
1) I need the roof recall done even though it was replaced previously. OK
2) Parts are ordered, they won’t schedule until parts are in. OK, good
3) They will do the work in-house. One of their body guys is a person they recently hired from an autoglass company. He is one who replaced my roof - flawlessly. OK, good!
4) Told to expect at least a day, probably two. 21P22 will be done concurrently. OK, that’s fine.

I’ll update as this progresses.

The comments that removing a windshield without damaging it is not such a simple thing, that windshield repair companies aren't really experienced in removing windshields without damaging them because they typically don't care about the existing (damaged) windshield the goal is to put on a brand new windshield, that someone said finding glass in your car is not unusual when you get your windshield replaced, that someone said the one other Mach-E their dealer previously worked on for this recall the windshield broke and the owner had to wait some time for a replacement, that Ford expects no more than 10% (!) of vehicles to get a brand new windshield as a result of this work (because the existing ones break while removing them?).
Body shops do them a lot and do work and reinstall windshields.

I spoke to my dealer and he said they send it out to a body shop since they do glass work and body repairs.

My dealership said it would be ”a few days.”
On Tuesday it will be 3 weeks.

In Response to my inquiry today, I was told “it’s complicated.”

Perhaps I’ll get it next week. Perhaps it will be gone the entire month of December.

If I were y’all, I would wait (I didn’t wait because I thought this would permanently solve the wind noise problem). Wish I’d waited…

Got my notification via Ford Pass yesterday and it only lists 21S42 - Panoramic Roof Adhesion. Could it be that I've got away with not having the windscreen refitted? Anyone else just had the Roof notification?

Hi all,

I got the recall notice on my Mach-E for the Panoramic Roof Glass Reseal and Windshield Glass Reseal. Made an appointment with Frontier Ford in Santa Clara and the service adviser told me that the part is not yet in stock (Glass roof).

He also told me that the repair needed to be done at a Ford Dealership with a body shop which for me would be Fremont Ford or Capital Ford in San Jose.

I thought this was a reseal according to my alert in the FordPass app?

Anyways, the advisor said to check back next year to see when the roof is in stock and they should be able to replace the windshield and roof at the same time.

Has anyone had this recall service done already? Did they replace or reseal the roof and windshield? Any clarifications would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kwai

That is too bad. Mine was in for both and it took 3-1/2 days. The recall notice I received is for BOTH the windshield and the roof. My dealer sent it to a Ford certified body shop (CDE Collision) and they in turn used a glass company on the windshield (the roof does not come off). The panoramic roof is sealed with gaskets and resealed from the inside (headliner is removed first). As far as wind noise, I haven't noticed a huge improvement. As far as the work, you cannot tell anything was done. My advice is to go to a dealer that knows what they are doing. My dealer is Currie Motors of Frankfort IL. I would wait if the dealer acts hesitant to do it and look for another dealer who knows what they are doing. I'm glad I didn't wait and had it done as I don't have to worry about it anymore. Now if I could just get the Powerup 1.7.1 update to install. . .
