Sold my 23 Mach E privately and leased a 2025 Cadillac Sport 1. . Will be picking it up Friday. Needed to get something that provides more comfort at my age(77). Took the Optiq for a 2 hour test drive. Much smoother ride, quieter especially over the tar strips on the pavement and more information in front of you on the screen. Definitely not near as much power but plenty for our needs. Super Cruise is standard for 3 years and it is so far superior to Blue Cruise especially in our area. Worked flawlessly even on a 2 lane road. Only had 11,000 kilometres on the Mach E. it was my 2nd Mach E and both were basically trouble free. Cadillac has a 4 year warranty and covers everything except tires. It even refills the washer fluid and tire rotations and balances. MSRP on the Optiq is $65,000 which is $5,000 less than a 2025 Mach E I priced out. Cadillac has some really good lease prices right now. Mach E not so much!

Let us know as you approach end of year one how the Caddy is doing. Before I bought my MME, I was really looking hard at the Lyriq since around these parts, Cadillac dealerships seem to be a cut above all others. From my research the biggest complaint from EV owners was the lack of attention and training their dealership provided. My local Ford dealer doesn't even try to stock either of Ford's EV's. But the Cadillac dealer always has them in the showroom front and center. I will be curious...

I too looked at the Lyriq. I am prepared for a switch as soon as a heavily defended level 2++ ADAS with lidar comes down the road. Keep us up to date with your Optiq.

My wife LOVED the look of the Cadillac escalade EV.

That price tag is a killer though. I think I'm going to give Cadillac a serious look for our next EV

We took an Optiq for a nice long test drive but the seats just weren't that comfortable to me.

We took a new 2024 Mach E GT with performance package for a test drive As well. That thing is insane power wise. Actually hurt my head under full acceleration!!! If there is a difference in ride we couldn’t tell. Still too much bounce and slapping and thumping over the tar strips.

I’m 54 and feel I’m too young for a Cadillac. Also, I don’t support GM abandoning Apple CarPlay. Good luck!
LOL I haven’t owned a Cadillac for a couple of decades. I never felt too young to own one. I just didn’t much like the new ones at the time. Still not a fan of not having access to CarPlay/AA and the styling doesn’t exactly make me excited. But the current crop is better than it has been for decades. I still miss the 1969. ??

The captive anti-sway bars that Ford put in the MME contribute to the weird ride it has. Aftermarket bars made my GTs noticeably less weird. ?ā€ā™‚?

I’m older and I still feel the same as you. The comfort factor is definitely a draw but I also think I would miss any loss of spirit.

I sat in an Optiq at a car show. Too much creaky plastic and faux austintaciousness
Must be perception. We thought the Cadillac had less plastic inside. We lIked the different textures In the Cadillac.
