I've had a recurring issue with my 2021 GT GPS going haywire in the morning. Suddenly, the GPS can't find me or places me miles away in water. I was in Android auto for each time, but the issue was also when changing to the car navigation. When I took my phone off of the car and looked at maps directly on my phone, it would be fine (in other words, it wasn't my phone GPS going wacko). It is intermittent, which can make it hard to pinpoint the problem. Anyone else have this issue? Any known resets or is it a dreaded trip to the dealer for me?

I've recently had problems with Google and Waze getting GPS locked in until I either open Waze or try to open Google. Haven't noticed an issue with the built in nav, though.

Does Android Auto use the car's GPS and feed it to Google, I wonder?

When using wireless AA it definitely uses the car's GPS. I assume that holds true if you plug your phone in also, but I am not certain. The issue at hand has happened to many of us on the forum. For me it is extremely intermittent. As in two or three times in the 14+ months I've owned the car. Unless there is a TSB recommending a fix I would say the chances of a dealer doing anything are virtually 0.

It has happened to me several times in the past year. Just do a Sync reset, that fixes it. I found it loses the GPS satellite signals, then reverts to a dead reckoning mode. You can see the GPS signals when stopped, go to Nav, Settings then About, and it has a page for that.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your GPS concern.

I've had the same and the reset of Sync works!

Do you park your car underground where it can't get a GPS signal? When it has happened to me, it was after my car was parked in a lower level garage. It doesn't do it every time I park underground, but every time it has happed that is where I was parked prior.

The GPS loses its mind whenever my car downloads (installs perhaps) an update. I wouldn't be surprised if you get an update complete notification soon (I got one yesterday).

I agree that can block the signals, but once you exit the parking garage it should be able to re-acquire the satellites. I have had it happen when parked outside, I almost never park in a parking garage and have not seen it correlated to that.

Interesting. I thought that would be it. Oh well.
