Grizzl-E mounted upside down?

Haven’t ordered one yet but I think that would be the easiest way to do it and not have to reorient the box and connector. My Wife might not approve but its my garage and I can do whatever I want! Lol

The problem with the Grizzl-E being upside down is the mount. It uses gravity to lock into place, if its mounted upside down, it won't lock into the wall mount can can easily be pulled off the wall.

I'm installing a Grizzl-E EV charger with a Splitvolt Splitter Switch plugged into my dryer outlet.

The NEMA 14-50 outlet on the Splitvolt is upside down. And the plug on the Grizzl-E is so short that I would have to mount the Grizzl-E upside down below the Splitvolt.

I would not want the Splitvolt upside down, because it has digital readouts for current, voltage, and power that would be upside down.

I recall seeing a picture of a Grizzl-E mounted upside down, but I can't find it now.

Has anybody mounted a Grizzl-E upside down?

Just order the Australia model.

Yes, I just watched a guy on YouTube mounting one and I saw him install the locking pin that holds it securely to the wall. I still think mounting it upside down is the best way to go for my situation.

Yeah that’s actually a good idea, they are really responsive, maybe @RockwallRick send them a pic of your box and see what they recommend

Yes, I will do that before I take the plunge and buy one! Still using the Ford Mobile Charger but it has been acting flaky as my Garage Temp goes up and it will soon be In the 90’s!

I still haven’t used that yet, just kept it in the trunk. Tried to use it a couple weeks ago but cord wasn’t long enough, good thing I didn’t need to charge, just wanted to use a free outlet at the time

United Chargers has assured me that it can be mounted upside down in the garage but they don’t recommend doing this outside.

Makes sense, the connections to the box probably aren’t designed for that type of ingress

Yes, tried to order one on their website but couldn’t get it to take? Ended up buying it on Amazon so hopefully the Ford Mobile Charger will last at least one more week!

I had the same issue with the website, it doesn’t like iPhone or Safari, ended up doing on Google Chrome and it worked when I ordered. Make sure you set dip switch to correct amp when you get it

i just looked at my instructions for the mounting bracket and it looks like there is no reason why you can't mount the bracket upside down on the wall and back of the unit so it will work correctly and you don’t have to depend on the rod to hold it up against gravity. I was also going to suggest installing the cover upside down but realized you cannot because it meets up with an optical tube for the LED on the front of the unit.

Yes I thought about doing that as well. I doubt if my Wife will even notice that it is upside down. I took the step bars off my Truck and she didn’t notice until she tried to get in. The look on her face was priceless!! Lol
