GT acceleration without a full battery

Hey GT Owners,
I have had a GT on order for a while and have consumed all the media about it. I know that acceleration is much less when the battery is low and cold. If you were at about 40%-50% battery, what would it feel like?
Still fast but not crazy fast? Slow as an Escape?

I know I won't be at 90% all the time and am curious. I drove a cold GT at about 15% (Carmax said "don't go more than 30 miles") and it wasn't bad, but didn't feel super fast. Still ok.

Warm battery you have nearly full power down to like 30%. It doesn't really start to get "slow" until under 10%. Cold battery is a different story though. If it is super cold it can be super slow at 80%.

Did you notice the power limit bars in the bottom right when you test drove yours?

Being in Florida I can confirm it’s more temp than percentage. Mine was around 30% the other day and it was close to 80 out and it was fine, no issue with acceleration, granted that was street use, but in everyday driving I don’t notice a difference, always have enough go when I need it, even when I start stacking grey bars on the power meter!

Yes, a lot of gray bars. I couldn't count them.

Fellow Michigander here. The other comments are right on....we are wondering if you took note of the gray bars that indicate how much the power is being limited. You can search the forums to see pics of them. If I leave my GT out in the elements for a few hours during the winter, about 1/3 of my power is unavailable when I start it back up cold, even if 80% SOC. The SOC affects it as well, but the temp seems to matter more. These days, when I keep it in the garage and charged up to 90%, I will only have 2-3 gray bars...which is to say I have somewhere near full power, but not quite. I have only had mine since January, so don't know much about it being in warm weather, but I'm looking forward to saying bye-bye to those pesky gray bars.

If you took it out at 15% and it was sitting outside, I'd bet your power was limited by 40-50%. Still quick, but not fast.

Interesting to read and Thank You everyone for the explanation. I’ve only driven my GTPE from the dealer home and noted grey bars but don’t have anything to compare it to. Still felt fast as hell but it’s my AWD ER is also the fastest thing I’ve ever driven before.

I was looking forward to getting snow tires on her tomorrow and trying it out. I guess I’ll have to wait for a warm day to really feel what my GTPE can do. With where I live, that should be in about 3 more months. ??

I’m bald.
140,000 BTUs of Jet Fuel powered heat sitting right over there. I’ll put some ducting right to the supercharger intake.
In the meantime I’ll accept my power limitation as a safety feature allowing me to acclimate to the new levels stupidity I could otherwise achieve.
