GT Order

New member here, and ordered a Shadow Black GT without the glass roof on 3/17 - trying to time it right with the end of my Model 3 lease which is Aug 31st (can extend for 6 months if delays continue). Just was curious for anyone else that has ordered a GT in 2022 - have you received build dates yet? I’m not expecting anything for a few months but just was curious of others experience with the GT specifically. Really only thing I’m concerned with is getting the tax credit so essentially taking delivery before Dec 31st so hoping that is realistic.

Hahahaha touché. I’m generally a glass half full kind of guy but I know this is a mess right now. The ability to extend until February gives me some sense of calm but I’m gonna be sweating it come December when I haven’t received a build notice yet lol

Received Production date: 01/28/22
VIN received: 02/11/22
Window Sticker: 03/11/22
Production started: 03/19/22

Thanks. Seems like some GT’s come in faster than other trims. Wonder if that holds true for ‘22 models. Guess we will see

I have 3 cars on order right now. All 3 are GT non-performance.

Car 1:
Ordered 8/14/21
Build week 3/21/22, hopefully going into production any day now

Car 2:
Ordered 11/04/21
Build week 3/14/22, currently in production

Car 3:
Took over cancelled order that was originally ordered 10/11/21
Build date 1/06/22
Chip hold until 3/07/22
Currently sitting in Mexico waiting on transport

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus at the moment. Hoping it holds true.

Haha, there really is no rhyme or reason to their production process. I ordered 7/26/21, had an initial production date of 12/13/21, got bumped to 1/3/22, then got stuck in purgatory for awhile. Apparently it has been built and I have the window sticker, but it still hasn't been shipped yet. Latest email states that I have an estimated delivery date 5/22-5/28
