Can someone explain why the GT standard range is rated at 280 miles with a 91 kWh battery, while a Premium with AWD and extended range is rated at 300 miles with an 88 kWh battery? The GT has a higher capacity battery, but less range than the extended range Premium model. Is the power distributed differently between the front and rear motors on the GT vs. Premium AWD? What does Ford mean by "upgraded eAWD" on the GT, i.e. how is it different than the eAWD on the Premium model? Thanks for any insight.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm referring to 2025 models.

I didn't realize the HP ratings were that dramatically different. Fun! I really like the GT but for practicality (long road trips, grandkids in the back seats) I think the Premium model is more in line with my day-to-day needs.
If you care about the grandkids’ comfort in the backseat (and no judgement if you don’t), get a GT. The suspension on the GT is magnetically adjustable to give you a choice between driving an Oldsmobile or a Corvette. The premium comes with steel suspension that is not tuned great. I drove both and it’s a night and day difference.

That's another surprise. I assumed that "Magneride" simply meant a stiffer ride for the GT, given that it's the sportier version. I didn't realize the Magneride is adjustable. I keep trying to talk myself out of the GT in the name of "responsible choice" but this forum keeps educating me and pulling me back to the GT! :)

Don't expect those range estimates if you are driving freeway speeds with either trim. I did a round trip on my 23GTPE of 175 miles. I started with 86% and finished at 17%. In most cases when on a trip you will be charging up to 80% since the charge rate drops considerably above that point. So also count on that. Quite a bit of it was on the freeway which has a 75mph speed limit when not in one of the cities. It drops to 65mph through them. We do have a stretch of toll road that has a speed limit of 85mph and you can see the percentage dropping quickly when on there. I have got to where I avoid the toll roads if possible since I can get more range staying off of them so I pay less for energy and also don't have to pay the toll. In a gas vehicle it probably does not make much difference in cost doing toll or not since sitting in traffic uses a lot of gas.

I changed my suspension to the eibach sportline and it rides great.

The GT and any EX range MME have the same battery. The reason the GT has lower range is the extra power. And the 20” wheels.
For 2025, the GT and Rally still have the 91kWh battery pack. The Extended Range battery on the Premium and Select are now 88kWh.

Ford did the same with the Lightning for 2025. You have to buy the Lariat or Platinum to get the 131kWh ER battery. It's now 122kWh for the ER on the Flash and only standard range on the XLT. Fleet sales can get the ER 131kWh on the Pro.

As I recall after comparing my 2024 Premium 4-ER window sticker to one for the equivalent 2025 (published on this forum), the MPGe figure is 104 for the 2025, vs the 99 for my 2024. So the battery pack size drops by 3.3% but the published efficiency goes up 5%. On paper anyway it sounds like a good deal. Also, the 2025 has a heat pump and ventilated front seats, but the window sticker was $4,000 less for the 2025.

Also worth noting, the std. suspension has been retuned for '25, so until we get some rest drive reports, it's unclear how it will compare to the GT, as far as ride quality.
