GT Standard Range vs. Premium Extended Range

If you care about the grandkids’ comfort in the backseat (and no judgement if you don’t), get a GT. The suspension on the GT is magnetically adjustable to give you a choice between driving an Oldsmobile or a Corvette. The premium comes with steel suspension that is not tuned great. I drove both and it’s a night and day difference.

I have toyed with modes and can not find anything remotely close.
Can the Magna ride be tuned to make it ride like a Caddy in one of the modes?
That would be nice.
Whisper would be nice for that.

Whisper is an olds 100%. But I’m also currently running on Michelin x-ice snow tires on 19s while you are probably on Pirellis. I’m switching to Pirellis soon and will see how that changes the ride.

20's with Continental cross contact i think.
Real short sidewall.
Was looking to the Pirelli's when these are toast.
Got 10k on them now and they still look like they will be around for awhile.

Also worth noting, the std. suspension has been retuned for '25, so until we get some rest drive reports, it's unclear how it will compare to the GT, as far as ride quality.

Is there documentation from Ford confirming this? I've seen videos and read lots of posts from people who may or may not be reliable sources.

Even if from reliable sources, it’s anecdotal. You will need to drive both and in your environment to really see if it’s worth it for you. My experience is different because of the city streets that I drive on. They make things appear rougher than in the burbs.

Reminds me of my wife's early 84 corvette that had a suspension that was so stiff it would leave the road surface and you could hear them reconnect.
Would make my neck hurt.
Hate that car.
This GTPE is a monster that is a blast to drive I must say.

Get the GT. I wish I did. I went with the Premium AWD because of the extra 20 miles as well and I haven’t experienced the extra yet, lol.

I have been driving my grandkids to school in my 22 GT for 3 years with no complaints. I can only imagine how much smoother the ride is now wit magneride standard on the GT.

Just a note on the GT’s reduced range rating. It’s mostly aerodynamics for highway travel. The nose is draggier than the non-GT nose. The wheels are a little draggier. That equals less highway range. For in-town, my reason for worse range is my right foot. ??

The 2025 Premium with sport appearance package that has the GT front end doesn’t get a reduced range rating vs without, so the range difference is just due to the wheels/tires and bigger front motor.

Not sure as to why Ford would not indicate the nose job on a Premium with the GT nose would get worse range than a regular Premium, but as a dog with an education in aerodynamics and some practical application, the GT nose creates more turbulence. ??

I had an '84 Vette! Definitely one of the worst model years for Corvette. I say that, but I still put over 100K miles on it and never had any issues. Just routine maintenance, tires, brakes, belts.. It was the first model year for a lot of things... First model year for the "flat" body style. First (and only?) with that quirky pretend fuel-injection. CrossFire Injection or whatever. The good points about the car was I bought one with about 20K miles on it in '91 for almost nothing, in perfect condition. Everyone thought I had a brand new Vette because the body style had not changed much, I'd tell them it was an '84 and most didn't believe me. It was a fun car, for a piece of crap. Ride and handling was terrible. The joint-branded Delco/Bose sound system was an embarrassment, even for '80s stock sound systems. I redid all that a year or two after I bought it. It became my first car to have a CD player. Good times. Kept the car for about 10 years and that's what I drove when the weather was nice and I wasn't driving my work truck.

That just means they didn’t retest for the appearance package. Probably don’t have to.

I can’t imagine it making much of a difference though.

HAHA You are making me NOT miss that car.
We had it for 11 years and for the first 6 years it was driven every day.We had 6 cars so it didn't get driven much after we were together,but drove it rarely and every time I would think I'll take it for a drive the battery would be dead like DEAD!!
NOT able to revive, something like below 1 volt.
We spent hundreds paying people who swore they could fix it.
Dealership wanted 300$ every time just for labor.
I learned early on that if you raise the drivers side slightly with a jack you could unscrew the wheel well piece and the small panel would swing out of the way. After doing that for years and 10 batteries. Later sold it to a kid that thought it was the .holy grail of vettes. Sold it for 6500 turned around bought a 1987 GMC Caballero(only 1800 badged as GMC that last year) and never looked back.
Don't drive that car except every year or so and it ALWAYS starts.
Every now and then I think I see it but every time it had a 3rd brake light so...nope.
