Maybe it's because I'm not in a big city, but has anyone seen the 3D buildings promised on the Ford navigation screen? Yes, my option is turned on, and I've cycled the option a couple of times to make sure it's turned on, but I have yet to see a building at all on my Ford nav, much less a 3D building.

It might be because I'm not in a big city, but Apple Maps of course shows every building around me, so I know the data is out there SOMEWHERE. Is this just a big city feature? I don't feel like driving into DC just to find out.

Yes, it's only in larger urban centers, at certain zoom levels. If it's zoomed too far out they disappear

Yes, we see them from time to time. I think it is limited to the size of the building and if they have it in the database yet.

That’s awesome, all. Thanks for the pics! I guess because I live where there are more cows than people, it’s not showing up, but even in some fairly sizable towns like Winchester, VA and Harrisonburg, VA, I was still seeing nothing but road lines and POI indicators. I’m going to be in Arlington, VA pretty soon; I’ll see if it works there.

Thanks again!

Honestly while driving downtown i love the detail. There's good lane detail and 3d buildings around like the stadiums..but i find myself looking at it too much. Even in my peripherals, its a lot of stuff moving around on the screen. But I think that is more of a problem with me.

Can attest. I live about a 30 second walk to wrigley field and when I first saw it on the nav, I was pleasantly surprised.

I’ll try to grab a pic.

The super-detailed maps only appear in pretty dense urban centers. And there’s no way to tell until you’re actually in them. I live in the KC metro, and they appear when I go near downtown. They are very detailed, even have the tunnels and overpasses. But they don’t extend out far from the urban center, and the map reverts to normal.

For most locations, only larger “landmark” buildings are displayed. Although, there’s a community college near me that is the only building displayed for miles. So “landmark” is pretty subjective.

I believe they only show up if you are in the 3D view. If your second circle on the left shows anything other than the triangle with 3D (as seen in the photos others have attached) it won't show. At least that's how it's been in other Ford Nav systems.

Yes, you must be in 3D view for them to show up at all. In urban areas there are also building outlines even if there aren't the detailed roads (or if you zoom out one level)

Yep, we have them in Philadelphia. Very cool and very handy. they also have some of the suburban buildings too, which is amusing. Driving along and you’ll suddenly see a random 3D building pop up
