My 2024 Mach-e Select does not have a power lift gate. Occasionally, when I try to push the hatch release button, it doesn't release. The tail lights blink when the button is pressed, but hatch does not open. I have the key fob in pocket. This does not happen with the doors, only the rear hatch.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It is a security setting? Again, it is intermittent, but I cannot determine a pattern.

i've experienced this and it's usually solved by unlocking the doors first, not sure why it happens though it's rare for me

I was told not to send my VIN on a public forum. Do you have a private account?

I’ve given my vin to the Ford account and gotten my problem solved. Your vin is in more danger in a Walmart parking lot than here.

Send them a direct message. Click on their name (Ford Motor Company) then click on direct message. That is the official Ford USA presence on this forum.

I have the same exact issue. What I do to pop it instead of fumbling with the key fob is to open one of the rear doors and immediately shut it. This then allows me to open the hatch. Super annoying. Please post the solution if you find one.

Sometimes I must open one of the doors before the hatch.

I'm guessing here, but I think when the car is in deep sleep mode, it sometimes takes a press of the button to wake it up. I've seen this on door buttons too. Did you try just pressing it a second time? Theoretically, walking up to the car with PAAK or the fob will wake it up, but it is not always a sure thing....

Yep, I did press it several times. When I tried it yesterday it worked fine. It hasn’t done that in quite a while. Very odd. We will see what today holds.

I've had this issue, seems to come and go. I've gone through multiple weeks where it doesn't work properly, then it will for several weeks. Currently it's working, hoping it stays that way. Maybe it has something to do with OTA's, but haven't kept notes to correlate behavior to any specific update.
