Hatchback\body alignment is off

Hey All,


I just noticed that the lines\gap for the hatchback is off enough to be noticeable. I was wondering is anyone else has this issue and is it covered by warranty to have it realigned?

Yes, it's covered. Bring it up with your dealer.

I had to have mine aligned. Dealer subbed it out to a body shop. Covered by warranty.

Mine wasn't the hatchback, but the front quarter panel was misaligned and making my passenger door hit every time it was opened. The realignment and paint correction was all covered under warranty.

Mine is also off (Dec ‘20 Build) but I don’t trust the dealer or a body shop to fix it without causing other problems as it sits now it doesn’t leak so I will keep it the way it is.

You can adjust it with trial and error with a total of 4 bolts at the hinges. Loosen, push on hatch to move one side forward/back compared to the other to adjust the alignment.

I had the dealer fix my misaligned liftgate under warranty. Oddly, it has settled back to its misaligned state again. Time for another trip…
