Another update after a while...
I don't really hear the screen whine at this point. I don't know if I've already gotten used to it, or it's dropped in volume, or it's because it's unusual for me not to be running some entertainment in the car - radio or BT or whatever - but I'm not worried about it, either.
I figured something out about PaaK and in general Bluetooth with my phone over the past week... and it actually makes sense with what I see in the Fusion Energi as well, so it's not the car side software (I'd be genuinely amazed if much code for the Bluetooth stack was shared between Windows Embedded [MFT] and QNX [Sync 4]) although if the APIMs have similar Bluetooth radio hardware, it could be that...
it seems my Galaxy S20 5G gets confused between talking to my Galaxy Watch and the car at the same time. This weekend and yesterday, I had trips where I had my girlfriend with me, so I left the car running full with the AC going, etc. I always left the phone in the car so I didn't have to worry about the timeout, etc. (the timeout is one of the settings that doesn't seem to always save). I noticed when I got back in the car, though, the Bluetooth streaming had always, 100% reliably, stopped... so on a random hunch, on one of the trips, I took my watch off, and left it in the car (the charging pad, the dash, whatever)... the streaming never dropped.
Often but not always the phone connection will drop when I get out of WiFi range of the house, as well.
I think there's just something weird about how the Qualcomm wireless radio deals with having multiple devices connected and the connection state of one of them changing.
I don't have the PaaK SSM yet so I don't know if that would fix this but since I think it's the phone side, I have low expectations. We'll see when my Astro Slide 5G Transformer shows up, if that works differently...
