Yes! I did just that. I’ve also reported my experience and the stories on this forum to a friend who is a senior producer for NPR. She’s managed to put this on a research team’s radar.

I called the BEV team and requested a buyback two weeks ago. They got back to me today in an email saying that my request has been approved by the Ford Reacquired Vehicles team under Michigan Lemon Law. They have given me the option for repurchase.... they want a bunch of documents and said they will give me final price (what I paid for minus a bunch of things) once they receive everything. I guess I just have to cut my losses and take as much as they are willing to give me...

now would you repurchase? Or just take your money back? I e been going back and forth with this also, if they buy mine back, because what are the odds that this will happen to the same person. Who knows, maybe I’ll keep the money and wait for the VW Bus.

Ideally, I would want them to replace my vehicle. No matter what, they will give me less than what I paid for - no compensation for my trouble, time, and other money I had to put into taking ownership of the vehicle. Also, would I even be purchase another MachE for the same price as I did when I put in the deposit and locked my price in at the beginning of the year?

I do not know what other EV to purchase at the moment. I will just wait it out and see what 2024 brings...

I put $40k down and financed the rest, made one payment so far. I think id be happy with a replacement, but I go back and forth with it.
