I have experienced this issue with both Google Maps and Apple Maps.

I distinctly remember once trying to get to a lunch place in Oahu and Apple Maps telling me to just stop on the H-1 as I had arrived. I guess I was supposed to park on the shoulder and walk to the restaurant which was just 40 feet away.

I guess the difference is the speed at which Google, Apple, and Ford fix the routing issues when reported.
Apparently, Google Maps told people in Kona looking to go from 1 side of the harbor to the other to use this road, which is really a boat ramp. It doesn't end well. And people did. More than once. More than twice. Alcohol and/or drugs may have been involved. The map fix seemed to have taken well over a year. ?‍♂

Maybe Apple will integrate it into CarPlay
Apple controls CarPlay. I'm not certain what hoops a developer has to jump through to get their app certified and available for CarPlay though.

Question remains - why use Ford nav? Why complain about Ford nav? Why not vote with the feet?
I am using Ford Nav. I am voting with my feet. ?

I use Ford because I find it WAY more accurate than Apple Maps. Just recently, it saved me a charging stop. Just recently, I did use it to find a restaurant along the way. Well, Travel Buddy did, to be fair. I want the preconditioning.

It’s possible to like most of a product and be frustrated with a shortcoming, but not so frustrated that you give up on the product. I’m very frustrated with Apple’s childish rent collection on the iPhone, for example, but I’m not giving it up because there’s more to like than find frustrating. I am frustrated with slowness of the Mach E software in general, but haven’t sold my car. I like more about it than what I don’t like about it.

EDIT: I do use Apple Maps around town, where range and charging are unimportant and where I often want to shout a destination at Siri.

@Ford Motor Company :

This has become ridiculous. It's been well over a year since we gained access to Tesla Superchargers. The Ford Connected Navigation is a PAID subscription product. We all saw the promo that 2025s have this feature (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/announcing-tesla-superchargers-connected-navigation.42532/). Clearly this is technologically possible.
  • When do the rest of us gain the ability to navigate to Tesla Superchargers?
  • When do we get to precondition en route to them?
Many of us here have been quite patient (others not so patient). If Ford were giving us full access to Connected Navigation it would be one thing, but to pay for Connected Navigation and not get this update in over a year shows a real failing in Ford's software groups. Is Ford really not able to negotiate this under your contract with Garmin?
So, Ford hasn't done something that makes sense, and instead is doing something that doesn't make sense.

Why are you surprised?

At this point I'm not shocked that the Tesla superchargers still don't appear in the navigation. Ford's struggles are to be expected at this point. I just don't rely on them to get things right at this point in time. They're struggling with all of the warranty claims that is costing them a ton of money which has led them to cut back on a number of things.

I just want to chime in related to the guy mention 1 year since Tesla access in the nav: Here in Europe we had since day 1 the ability to navigate to Tesla chargers by writing “supercharger” in the nav, which worked with precondition. However, when American Ford owners got the access to Tesla it was removed from us Eurotards. We got shafted so hard, and we are still waiting to get back our toys that has been “soon” from Ford for the last year :/

My GM vehicle has Google maps built in. Two weeks after GM got access to Tesla chargers, Google pushed an update to the maps that added Tesla chargers (compatible ones of course). This update happened without an OTA, the Google apps in the vehicle update automatically every few weeks, just like phone apps.

I can plan my trips on my iPhone, using Google maps and send it to my truck, works great, extremely accurate on SoC predictions and charging targets at stops.

Not a map issue, but when I lived in Maryland, one of my favorite restaurants was out on a peninsula just off the Patuxent River where it hits the Cheasapeake. Long, somewhat winding road that gets straight near the end and people really liked to speed. Only, the road makes a sharp left into the restaurant parking lot and if you miss the turn, well.... you're on the boat ramp.

A colleague from Northrop Grumman was in town to support a test I was running and he asked for food recommendations. I told him this was my favorite place in town. Next day, I ask if he liked it - he didn't go, took the tow truck 3 hours to dredge his rental car out of the water.

Is there something that shows what the prices are at the DCFC stations? Does Google Maps show the prices?

@Charge_Rob, I see you liked a post on this thread. Do you have any information you can pass on to us? Sure seems like Ford is doing a superb job of blowing up a lot of good will with all the own goals.
