How do I show Navigation and Music player at same time?

I have version 8.6.625054 but there is nothing to click to change the screen layout. Still looks just like the old version. I heard that Google has to turn it on on their end as well.

It's a server side switch that turns it on. There's nothing you can do to influence it.

i finally got the update today but is there any way to customize the mini-window on the left? it shows as weather but i'm literally staring out a window, don't really need any help there....

Seriously though, you can go to Settings and turn off weather. When I tried that though, it just blanked out the weather info. The tile for it was still present. You can try swiping it away? (I didn't try that yet.)

yeah i saw google chat message ended up there but not facebook messenger. i tried swiping it away. i looked in settings and while i could completely remove weather like you said no way to control what goes there that i found...

maybe it's just not possible? seems like a silly waste

Yeah agreed. For now you can make the map full screen or you can have that three part layout.

My car doesn't have the latest SYNC yet so if I make the bottom row of SYNC cards taller, then Android Auto's 3-part layout can also become a (rather awkward looking) two part layout. It lets me slide the upper right tile away... But in that layout the upper right tile is normally showing Google maps suggested destinations like Home and Work rather than weather.

I am not in any kind of early or beta program and I got AA Coolwalk today. It just showed up in my car. I love it - it is really what I have been looking for. Now to address AA losing GPS signal constantly.

That is incorrect. I can select my music in the lower right (Tidal) and it will go to a two part screen which I really like. Google Maps on top and my expanded music display on the bottom.

Interesting. I'll have to try it again. When I tried before the audio player (Podcast Addict) expanded to take the right third of the display instead of the bottom third.

I tried again, @krafty81. I can't produce the layout you're describing regardless of the sync tile size. Do you have the refreshed SYNC? Maybe that's the difference.

I think I am on 4.1.3. When I tap audio lower right it then splits into two, nav on top and audio on bottom. Maybe your audio app does not support? Tidal is my audio.

My vehicle's at 4.1.1... Doesn't have refreshed sync yet, so the dimensions of your AA frame are slightly taller than mine. That may be the significant difference, or as you said, it might be a limitation of Podcast Addict.

OK so I am confused. I have Ford PowerUp software 4.1.1 now, and AA 8.6.625054-release. It seems like that combo should allow me to get the split screen, but alas, the screen looks exactly the same.

Do I need to do something to enable it?
