How reliable is adaptive cruise control?

My experiance with adaptive cruise control is that it works very well 98% of the time. It copes with stop go traffic very well. Combined with lane centering the car nearly drives itself on motorways. Very impressed. I just wish it had a resume button after braking manually, instead of having to reset the speed. Much better than my 2018 V8 GT which dropped adaptive cruise below 30kph.

I agree about the lack of persistent auto resume. Have you noticed though, that ACC will auto resume if you are using it on a road that BC is also available on? Even if BC is not active.

It does have a resume button. Left side of steering wheel. The rocker switch for changing the speed up/down also pushes in. Pushing in toggles cruise control off/on while a speed is set.

I need to remember this. My instinct is to simply press the accelerator.

Yes. ACC is based on speed and the vehicle in front. It will auto continue if only stopped briefly (10 seconds?). A traffic light is typically too long and you will need to start it again. On my freeway commute the traffic is slow but typically not at a standstill for long. Hence freeway is my preference.

I don’t have BC anymore and I don’t miss it because there is ACC (and I don’t miss a hole in my pocket).

Also if you accelerate it will resume most of the time but I don't think in all cases

If you manually brake like the poster above said, hitting the accelerator won't resume the cruise speed since you canceled the speed by hitting the brakes.
