I don't usually use Android Auto for anything.... but it keeps trying to connect every time I use the USB cord to charge phone while I am driving. Even worse, since the 2/23/24 AA update on the phone side, my carScanner app doesn't connect to the ODB2 properly.... it gets thru the first ELM part, and never connects to the ECU.

I can't tell what is causing all the problem, and would like to disable AA on both phone and car so it doesn't even fire up.

I can see how to 'disable' on the phone side, but not the MME side. Is it possible?

CarPlay and AA can be disabled on the phone side. There’s no way to tell the MachE to ignore them, AFAIK.

Run a cable from the rear USB ports or from a charger in the 12V socket in the center console. You could also buy a power only USB cable that doesn't have the data wires in it.

ok, thats what I ended up doing. I disabled AA on my phone... CarScanner works again

...I get annoying message to enable AA when I plug phone into USB to charge, but as long as CarScanner is working right, I am ok with direct display of phone in holder

aha, I hadn't thought of 'power-only' cable, but that would be a decent way to avoid the AA message. thanks

I thought I was the only one who didn't use Android Auto / Carplay.
For reference, it's in the app library, just click "Disable" and it never harasses you again.

the only app I would LIKE to use AA for would be to mirror my phone display of the CarScanner app. But, since I can't get that working right, I'm fine with not using AA at all.
