How's the stream of Tesla OTA updates been going during these last four months?
I sense this is a rhetorical question, but I honestly have no idea. Are you suggesting that Ford is doing as good a job as Tesla at debugging and enhancing its software? I’m not being snarky because I don’t own a Tesla for comparison - I have just never heard anybody suggest that.

You were comparing MME updates to MY updates, and by stating that Ford is "far behind," the inference is that MME is comparatively deficient and in bad shape, so I wondered if you had basis for that.

I don't know, so I asked. My impression without researching further is that Tesla Model Ys have received maybe zero to two updates in the same time period, and only with generic notes like "minor bug fixes."

You can always check here for Tesla software updates (https://notateslaapp.com). I endorse them on my podcast as they also publish a list of Voice commands I moderate, just being transparent.

Also, Tesla owners haven't gotten a new "release" (2021.4.x.x) since the last week in January, just small changes and updates since.

I expect us to get Version 11 of Tesla OS (we're on 10.2) after the Plaid Model S starts deliveries in the next week. We've been in a holding pattern for a while now, and glad to get some new features soon.

It seems to me that Ford ought to be able to do both. And yet they can’t seem to do either. Here we are fast approaching the end of Q2 2021 and we have yet to see a single update with either discernible bug fixes or enhancements. The one enhancement currently being soft-opened to the early access crowd is a feature that wasn’t on anybody’s wish list, best we can tell, and is unlikely to be used all that much.

It’s frustrating and embarrassing. I knew going in when I chose the MME over the MY that Ford was behind the curve on software, but I failed to appreciate just how far behind.

Remember this? It was OVER FOUR MONTHS AGO.

I’d like them to get it right for the general customers (not so much concerned about Early Access) than them pumping out a stream of half-baked stuff. I tend to prefer the Apple model of fewer releases that generally work a bit better to the concept of “Microsoft patch Tuesday” ?

Thought I would just refresh this to see if there’s been any changes. Would love to be able to watch stuff on the big screen while the car is charging like other models let you. Get pretty bored lol.

I still want to be able to project my iPhone video on to the screen. You can only engage it with the handbrake on.

I see projection happening....
Wouldn’t they have to retrofit a projector into the cabin someplace? And where would they put a screen? Are you thinking something drop down from under the visors?
