I just got my 2023 CR1 back from 12 weeks sitting at a dealer while waiting for a charge port replacement. I dropped it off with 48% SoC and it dropped to 43% during the 12 weeks until it was repaired and recharged.

My SoH reading before dropping it off for the repair was 99.5 via CarScanner. The car was delivered the day before I purchased it on Sep 11, 2023, so my guess is the HVB was as "fresh" as it could be. The 99.5 SoH reading was obtained maybe a week before the trip where the MME stopped charging, and this was after a few road trips with maybe 20 DCFC's total.

I just re-connected my OBD and CarScanner and the SoH is now showing 97.5. I'm not overly concerned, just curious.... Since it was stored at the recommended SoC in the manual of near 50% or lower, why would the HVB loose 2% SoH by sitting for 3 months? Is the reading really accurate or subject to change as I start driving regularly again? I would think that after all of the road trips and DCFC that the initial reading of 99.5 would have been lower, but it seems that sitting at the recommended SoC impacted the SoH even more.

TIA.

SOH is inaccurate unless taken at 100% SOC and 77 degrees.

That makes sense. Thank you!
Not to me, I think it is a montonically decreasing function and you will never get it back. But mine moves in 0.5% decrements so the magnitude of your change seems to be due to more than aging.

But since you are handy with a scan tool, check your battery age, with the car gone that long maybe you have a different battery, not like they are upfront with everything they might break while they had the vehicle.

And I should add it is a sad state of affairs for 12 weeks for a part, I’ll guess salvage yards are filled with them or for that matter they could steal one from all the 23’s sitting on the lot.

HVB age shows 6.44 months, so that is right where it should be.

The part availability issue is a completely different thread, but yes, this experience soured me for sure. See here:

Read your saga and glad you are happy, just two comments,

1. I hope I am wrong and you get your SoH back.

2. I am very impressed that you only lost 3% of SoC after 12 weeks, on a cold night my Rivian can lose that much overnight. My MME is rock solid, having unnoticeable phantom drain, kudos for saving us all a 12 week idle soak to confirm how good the MME is just sitting pretty.

Because they updated the software, which affected the SoH calculation.

That's probably from your phone waking the car up, or because of Gear Guard running. Shouldn't have anything to do with cold. Disable Bluetooth on your phone at night and set Gear Guard to be off at home.

Tl;DR
Sure my Rivian R1S is faster than my GT but Ford has done an outstanding job in minimizing idle power use, not that I wouldn't love to have the option to put the cameras to use and see what strangers are doing around my Mach-E.

Pretty familiar with the Rivian, I think I have controlled for those cases, plus this has been an ongoing complaint for others. Even if I didn't the results would be similar and not appear to vary with the temperature.

Like the Mach-E, I created an app to record ,my trips and charges and one feature I implemented that I didn't need for the Mach-E was a idle period tracker which displays a list of times the vehicle sat for more than 6 hours along with the loss in range (the details of a single idle period shown below):

Because I added historical weather data from Apple Weather, I can calculate the mean temperature for the idle period and the results seem to seem to be predictable. While I haven't yet coded a scatterplot of temperature and range lost per hour, putting the data into a spreadsheet visualizes my results:
