Not exactly. AWD models with the SR battery are NOT covered by the recall. But RWD models with the ER battery ARE covered by the recall. It's the battery size that matters, not the number of motors.
I was told same thing it’s not that their not going to replace it but they haven’t the replacement parts at this time so the recall is on replacement if broken only until second quarter of the year then they should be able to replace it they saidI called my local Ford dealer today to schedule service to replace the HVJB and they said their EV tech will first need to inspect it and diagnose whether a replacement is needed. Does this sound right? I'm not a car guy, but that seems odd to me. I thought the point of the recall was to replace the HVJB before it fails. Will the tech be able to look at it and predict (accurately) whether it will fail or not?
Should I contact a different dealer?
I meant marked as complete but it sounds like the new recall should impact my SR car. I was confused by the Ford Roadside assistance saying there was a recall that the dealer should seeRemoved?
You called it. Showed up, dropped the car off, they told me it would take at least half a day to complete the recall service, all seemed well. A couple hours later I get the text that (surprise!) they need to order the parts which will take about a week and they will call me back in. What a waste of time. They likely don't have the parts.
Same happened to me. I had to bring in the car on 12/28 just to tell me the parts are on backorder. I am still waiting since 12/29/23...I called my local Ford dealer today to schedule service to replace the HVJB and they said their EV tech will first need to inspect it and diagnose whether a replacement is needed.
