Just curious what event triggers the recall of the HVJB?
I had asked our Ford dealer this summer and was told that our 2021 premium wasn't eligible at this time.
Thanks
My guess is that information is wrong.
My understanding is ALL 2021’s require the replacement.
Check your Fordpass app. Tap the Service tab at the bottom. The Service screen will show if your vehicle has an active recall.
If your vehicle previously had the high voltage contactors replaced with the improved ones, your vehicle wouldn’t need the recall.

I just checked my Fordpass app, the service screen and there are no recalls shown.
Vehicle health shows as Good.
I clicked on it and it shows no active alerts.
I'm fairly sure that the high voltage contacts have not been replaced.
Any other suggestions?

i also have a 22 GT. Bought it used from a Ford dealer. A requirement of thepurchase was that they replace the contactor because the cars computer was throwing error codes that thete was an issue with the HVBJB. They did the surgery and I took delivery. And the next day, to be sure, I took the GT to my regular dealer. They checked and found the work had been done. Then when Ford announced the recall i checked my Fordpass app and both vehicles indicated they needed the recall. And suddenly a month or so after that my GT no longer indicated it was part of the recall. So i went back to my dealer who looked up the earlier replacement and verified the new beefier contactor had been installed. Therefore rhe GT no longer required the recall.
So maybe go to your friendly dealer service rep and ask if the vehicles records show if the original factory contactor had been replaced at some time with the new part.
You are ok if you have nk4z -10c666-e installed.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

How do I determine if our Mach-e has "nk4z -10c666-e" installed?
Perhaps a trip to the Ford dealer.

Yes, the dealer has access to the vehicles entire service history.
if you bought used thete is a good chance that a ford dealer did the work before reselling the car.

We bought it new from the same Ford dealer.
Sadly after decades they are no longer a Ford dealership as of July. Probably due to being a small Ford dealership in a very rural small town.
I'll check with another much larger Ford dealership in our area.

Only cars with the extended range battery were recalled. Do you have a standard range?
Standard range.
So does that mean that our HVBJB is ok?

Yes. The standard range vehicle's HVBJB is significantly less likely to suffer failure so it isn't included in the current recall.

My vehicle is not in this recall, either. (2021 Premium standard range, rear wheel drive.)

Fantastic turnaround.
You can see in my work order 5.7 hours. Apparently FDRS found a lot of modules requiring updates.

Thats really nice they updated modules that had FDRS updates available. They usually don't do that for an afraid ( lack of knowledge ) of breaking things, usually. At least that what the Key West Ford (New Westminster) people told me when I did the HVBJB replacement...
