I have noted a new bug/issue on my car with the trip meter

So the last few trips I have taken the car has added milage to the "this trip" when I leave the first destination I go to.

Here is an example, we ordered take out tonight. I went to the restaurant and picked up its 2.8-3 miles each way.

When I got to the restaurant I shut off the car and went in. They were busy and our order was not ready there was about a 15-20 minute wait. I left with fresh food in hand, about halfway home I glanced down at the trip meter and it said I had traveled 29.4 miles in 6 minutes.

The two pictures are at halfway point stoplight and then at home in the driveway.

It's really odd has anyone else been experiencing this?

Many people, including me, have seen weird issues with this trip. Mine will sometimes start with miles from the previous leg, but reset the time and efficiency. Happens to me quite often.

The trip computer is just random numbers.
One day I started my GT and my trip was showing 1.5mils in 0 sec, and the car was still in Park inside the garage.

Today I reset Trip 1 before starting my trip. At the end of the trip, My Trip and Trip 1 were way off of each other.
So the trip computer does not even match itself.
I hope that all these wrong numbers are not used in the range calculation.

Are you sure you started out with the trip meter at zero? Quite often I find mine keeps mileage from previous drives so it ends being cumullative. No rhyme or reason when it does it.

Someone, somewhere on the forum said if the a door is opened before the car is shut down, the distance is not reset....that has happened to me s couple of times....

Yeah, this bug has been around since the beginning. The trip distance doesn’t always reset.

I don’t know why, but this issue bugs me more than anything else I’ve seen so far including PAAK!

I get all the above AND sometimes, the harder I drive the car, the better mi/kwh I get.

yeah I said that, and then it promptly proved me wrong. I've tried every combinations of shutting down, it just seems to be completely random regardless of what I do.

How did you bypass the 113 mph limit in the software?

that may actually be right its a 3-mile drive downhill
