I did a lot of research - including interviewing installers - before applying PPF to my MME. A couple of things: Modern, professional grade PPF does NOT damage paint. That could happen with the old crap that also yellowed and peeled over time.

Small bubbles are normal and need to work themselves out. This crease, as OP described it, definitely sounds like a mistake that the installer hoped you wouldn’t notice.

And re the weak paint thing, my impression is that it’s somewhat brittle and therefore vulnerable to chipping with things like flying gravel. Very different than gently removing film with the correct methods. Good luck!

If you can get a warranty card you may be able to go to another 3M installer.

At least that's what happened to be with tint. They installer just couldn't get it right on my C-max's windshield (the thing is huge). And eventually just did it with a different installer and 3M paid for it.
