I'm writing this on my phone so apologies for formatting.

The last few road trips that i have done have wondering how the built in navigation determines the route with chragers. I'm about to do a trip from SLC to PHX. The car navigation has me going down through Kanab/Page and taking 22hrs because of level 2 chargers. The phone trip planner will take me through vegas and take about 16hrs. I will send this trip to the car but it will then change the route.

I went into the navigation settings in the car and it is set for fastest time. Do you guys have any idea if there is a setting somewhere else that is messing with it?

Same issue popped up on my way to SLC last week from the Central Coast of CA, it wanted me to take an extra day to go up the backside of the sierras and cut through the middle of Nevada to get to the 80. I had to input a destination in the route for the charger in Barstow to get it to take the route up the 15. 14hrs faster than the one it wanted me to take.

I'm also not sure what the avoidances are in the 2nd picture since it wont let me click on it in the car.

I enter the charging stops as the destination one at a time to avoid these issues. Use ABRP to locate the chargers. Save the chargers in the onboard navigation before you leave.

Full post on how I do road trip planning.

Last May I drove from Sacramento to Phoenix through Page and I took the ICE because that route is just too tight on range and sparse on DCFC. The winds between Vegas and Page can get wild and I'm glad we didn't risk it because we wouldn't have made it with all the headwind we encountered.

On a side note, highly recommend lower antelope canyon, in Page, if you haven't done that.

Just did a trip and the built-in nav is horrible. You should at least be able to select preferred charging networks or something. As others have mentioned the best way to do it is to plan your trip in a better route planner and go to those chargers it recommends.
