Well this is annoying: Last night I noticed a squeak of a fan belt when climate control was on. Though quiet, it's very much present and at just the right pitch to cut through road noise and audio. Of course, when I turn off climate control, the noise goes away. I suspect it's the fan, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have a service appointment for next week - hoping they just swap the unit - but would be happy to skip that hassle and DIY if there's a known fix out there.

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

That's not a fan belt. It's a squeaky fan bearing. Probably sounds like a cricket chirping? Get it done under warranty because it will likely involve disassembling the front dash to replace the faulty fan.

(Should've assumed it was a bearing vs. a belt - lol.)

Of course such a small part requires a huge level of effort to fix. Is what it is I suppose. Under-warranty fix noted. ?

Mine started making that noise... At 40,000 miles. Any advice? How expensive of a fix will this be?

I had mine repaired under warranty. Other than that, I'd look for the part and maybe see if there's a walkthrough for how to replace. If it is a full dashboard removal, I may just bite the bullet and take it in for repair. Sorry :(
