I’ve noticed lately that every now and then the chime that sounds when getting close to an object has a very different tone—more high pitched and louder. I can’t detect any rhyme or reason to it. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s only been since the 4.1.2 update (which also seems to have introduced the auto light setting bug since that’s happened to me recently and never happened before that update).

Probably the tones switching from the radio speakers to the instrument cluster due to a low 12V battery. Try charging the car for 3+ continuous hours or drive it more.

This has been happening off and on since I got the car in early 2021. The same goes for the sounds when you first start up the car. I never looked into why, I just figured it was a software issue that would eventually get fixed, I'm still waiting on that.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder why I've never heard it before--I haven't changed my driving or charging pattern (mostly charge at work and make short trips around town). I guess if I had an OBD reader I could check on the 12V batter SOC (I had the widget, which provided that, but seems to not work anymore).

It also happens sometimes for no apparent reason. Just another one of the MME quirks.

I started happening once the OTA updates started in the fall. Totally random sometimes first start in AM after sitting overnight then it sometimes happens after a longer drive. Goes away after restart of car or a few minutes. See it’s random ?

It's happened to me in the past sporadically. It also happened to me today. No rhyme or reason. I've just gotten used to it. When it happens I just think my MME has a cold

I’ve found if you leave the door open for a few minutes with the car off,it will happen when you start up, I think that system just falls asleep or something

I guess it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one. I suppose these quirks come with the territory.
