I have a 21 with the foot activated tailgate, but I can never get it to work. Any advice?
Quick left kick straight up towards the left side of the license plate.

took me awhile to get it.

I’m getting 2 or 3 texts per week from dealers asking if I’m still in the market ….
They say “almost no ADM” …
I remember at least one that was playing games with me when I was looking for a MME :mad::mad:

I was recently offered $26K, $29K, and $36K for my 2021 premium AWD extended range with 25,500 miles. Based on KBB I expected a bit more but luckily we weren’t upside down.

Was today at Walnut Creek Ford. They have full parking lot with Mach-Es and more coming in recent days. Sales representatives told me they have 200 MME in inventory. No markups.
Looking online I see 40 ish. I wonder if they are not listing them all???

Walnut Creek is a good dealership. They never marked up above MSRP. We bought there last year for that reason.

As new ones with longer ranges come out, the "older" ones will go down in price exponentially.
Well, that's true of ANY used cars; they all go down in price exponentially.

And, I doubt that range is going to improve much more than what is on the market. Not without another leap forward in battery technology, but I don't see anything that radical on the horizon. I think right now the main targets for battery development are cheaper/easier to acquire materials, not range.

And if there is THAT great of a leap forward in battery tech, it may be possible to replace our 'old' batteries with the better tech. Maybe.

Because I own a business that uses cars, I usually trade and purchase on average two cars per year. With that being said, my domestic brand cars on average depreciate more than the non domestic cars. I once owned a Ford Focus and it was in really good shape and I could barely give that one away and the Civic that was almost mirrored option wise, along with mileage was sold in less than 3 days for asking price. Just one example.

I view the MME in a similar vein to the Chevy Citation when it first came out. The Chevy Citation had ADM on the MSRP and people loved them and praised them (see the similarity ;) ) After just a few years, the Citations were perceived as junk and the value on them dropped like a rock.

The MME is a "new" Ford product but the technology on it (compared to Tesla) is far inferior. I purchased my MME because of the tax credit and I was hedging my bets that the build quality was going to be better than the Tesla. After reading that the MME has rust issues along with a host of "tech" issues, I am that Citation owner that is getting nervous about the impending price drop once word gets out that this MME isn't what was once perceived by the general population.

And you are suggesting replacing the battery? You may want to keep that little secret quiet IMO. That would be like saying my Focus was a great car minus the drive train. ?

This is one time I hope I am wrong. I never owned a Citation but felt sorry for those that purchased them at ADM just to find out that they literally got taken and now they are upside down in the worst way.

If it fails/wears out at some point... yes? What, exactly, would be the alternative?
Getting rid of it.
Other than some of my classic cars, I have never replaced an engine nor have I replaced batteries in any of my hybrid cars that i've owned which are daily drivers.

Are we still pretending Tesla is ahead in “tech” because they have a slightly snappier display and security cams that drain your battery? I owned a Tesla. The “tech” wasn’t any better. It just had a snappier CPU, no CarPlay, and no Android auto. Let’s stop repeating this almost religiously that “Tesla is good at tech” because they are willing to put untested driver assistance features in consumer vehicles and their pedestrian speaker makes fart noises. Santa Mode is not advanced tech, it’s what happens when immature boys with no experience developing a safe product make all the decisions at a company.
